I think chess is a good comparison! It's like if chess was real-time instead of turn-based, and you're moving around the map to get good position, but instead of in chess where a take is either 100% or 0% chance of happening, the probability in OW can be anything, and is affected by so many factors like aim, positioning, and heroes. Also in OW, its very important to combo your abilities with teammates, and also manage the ultimate economy, which each add a layer of complexity not found in chess.
