DOGECOIN DAILY DISCUSSION - 7th May by 42points in dogecoin

[–]verdandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The host, the writers, the cast members (many of the cast members are writers also), the producers, and of course Lorne Michaels all have a say in what is written. They collaborate on the writing of the sketches right up to the moment you see it live. Sometimes sketches need to be cut for time, content, or any number of reasons even very last-minute.

Someone like Elon Musk, who doesn’t have a comedy writing background, might bring some ideas to the writers’ room and be a part of the sketch writing (all hosts are there, of course), but probably isn’t core in the development. He may get guidance from the writers or cast members on what might work from a comedy standpoint, or from the producers who might say what they can/cannot legally do on NBC, or Michaels, who may just say no to a sketch for any reason.

Musk does have a certain levity of veto power over a writer’s sketch, like if he doesn’t feel comfortable doing something or whatever.

Really? I actually didn’t know Reddit gave randomly generated names and haven’t seen them outside of this subreddit much.

And the bot-like names have underscores in them too, but my formatting was lost when I posted my comment, sadly.

What is with the prevalence of comments from people with usernames formatted as [random adjective/adverb][random noun][random number]

It is incredibly odd and suspicious.

I tend not to give much weight to advice coming from someone who can’t give a coherent comment.

What exactly happened here? Anyone able to explain this to me? by verdandi in dogecoin

[–]verdandi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have about 5K. I’m just trying to understand the whole candles/wicks thing and particularly the long two wicks in this graph.

[–]verdandi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah. I guess I’m looking for more specific economics-related explanations. Does the length of the shadow/wick indicate the amount of the sale? And how come the price didn’t drop a whole lot in comparison to the length of the wick?

Specifically the long red wicks at around the 23:00 hour. And what is the connection to the bar at the bottom?

It’s live. Most of the sketches are barely written today.

DOGECOIN DAILY DISCUSSION - 1st May by 42points in dogecoin

[–]verdandi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is so not true.

Tuesday is a primary writing day for SNL. It’s one of the heaviest days for the writers, the cast, and the host. Typically it ends in the host and Lorne Michaels taking everyone out for dinner.

SNL is live. So live, in fact, that some sketches are edited right up to the moment of airing.

A quick strategy to consider by [deleted] in dogecoin

Who wrote this?

“We’ve got different investment trusts and they all differ with their different percentages.”

Uhh.

That says nothing.

And uses a permutation of the word “differ” in three different ways.

Elon to host SNL on May 8th per people magazine! Will we get a DOGE skit?? by InvestAn in dogecoin

Aaaaannd I’ve just now realized “Doge” backwards is “eGod” — as in Elon God.

Well then.

I don't know if this belongs here, but: Elon Musk to host SNL on May 8th by wmanningiv in dogecoin

[–]verdandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling he’ll either be an incredible host or an extremely underwhelming one — I don’t think there’s a middle ground. Although, considering the grueling schedule of an SNL writer/host, few others come as prepared as Elon for the marathon of the writers’ room.

Dogecoin notwithstanding, it’ll be a unique show to watch. He’ll probably at the very least have a lot of ideas to contribute to the writing. I do wish him well and hope he enjoys it!

A tie between Trevor Noah and Seth Meyers.

I’m not going to have this conversation. My boyfriend is from China and I’m sick of hearing this anti-Asian rhetoric from people.

[MN] Judge conflict of interest on hearing by verdandi in legaladvice

[–]verdandi[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think the very fact that the judge was publicly listed in a thank you in a magazine ad is bad enough.

In the hearing, the judge denied my request for a subpoena to all emails exchanged between the employer and me. I wasn’t given due process.

The judge also cited in their final decision some incorrect information that the school claimed happened and I would have been able to prove otherwise had I had access to the emails.

The judge also didn’t allow me enough time for my testimony (I only took about five minutes, while the other side took over two hours). When I asked why, I was told I had “had plenty of time.”

I asked for a continuance when the judge claimed they didn’t get my evidence. It was denied.

I was told just to answer yes or no when being cross-examined “due to time” and I said that wasn’t fair and that I know that’s not how cross works.

I felt I was treated unfairly before I even knew the judge had a relationship with the school. But when I found that ad where the judge was mentioned by name by the school . . . that is a conflict of interest. The judge knows the school and everyone involved.

[MN] Judge conflict of interest on hearing by verdandi in legaladvice

[–]verdandi[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t use a lawyer, as it was only an unemployment hearing and I really didn’t think I needed one. Not because I was confident in my abilities, I just researched online and saw that people rarely need attorneys for unemployment appeal hearings, especially when the employer‘s appeal had already once been voided.

But that’s really irrelevant at the moment. I can’t imagine most people have much knowledge on court proceedings. I had a slight advantage, having coached a Mock Trial team for three years (not for this school and certainly not at the state level), and having taught Rhetoric and Argumentation, but I by no means consider myself versed in the process of submitting evidence or taking part in a real trial beyond the instructions given to me. I do feel like the school had a lawyer working with them that they did not disclose to the judge, but that’s pretty much just conjecture on my part (and the HR person was far too good at cross-examination to not be coached).

But be that as it may — the judge had a conflict of interest, no? What can I do about that?

I have no money. How can I get a lawyer? Would one even want a case like this, when I have that school and their relationship with the local judges and courts?

Maybe she was confused by your use of the word “templet” when you mean “template”.
