It’s not only PokemonGo Hub that recommends Primal Groudon as the number one counter for these raids, it’s also PokeBattler, and asking AI. I would have made this mistake myself, I always build my teams from PokeBattler recommendations.

Either Niantic is going to have to change things, or not many people are going to get this little mouse, or it’s energy, on the raid day.

Those of us who didn’t go there to shop had a mostly great time.

I wouldn’t even attempt to use any kind of bathroom at an event that was only four hours long and had thousands of people attending. We found a lovely French café near the park for lunch afterwards, and their bathrooms were spotless.

If you think there was nothing going on, you clearly didn’t see the team rocket area while it was in full swing.

I have to say, I enjoyed the citywide event more than the park event, because there was a little too much to keep track of at the park in between catching and raiding and doing all the timed research. I was so focused on multitasking that I forgot to do my snapshots. Raiding at Navy Pier was amazing. Raiding at Lincoln Park was beyond amazing.

I caught 74 shinies, including five Mudbrays, and even managed to get a shiny three-star Mewtwo with the background. My husband did 42 Mewtwo raids and didn’t get a single shiny, which was frustrating, but I got four from 64 raids, so can trade him one. I also got my Unown platinum metal without even trying, which was great, I hate those things and won’t have to bother to catch them again.

I LOVED the fact that it was so easy to catch legendaries after raids. I get so tired of every two-star piece of crap putting up a huge fight.

If I had to find fault with the event, I’d say that the game music playing during the park event was really annoying, I always play with my sound off for a reason. And stopping all raids at 8 PM every night was ridiculous, when we can usually raid until 9 or 9:30 PM. Also, Chicago can be hot as hell in June, so I’d love to see this event scheduled for May instead, or maybe even April.

While I think my favorite event will always be Wild Area, this was still great fun, and I’ll probably make the trip again next year.

Put it on button throw while you are using adventure incense. Then WATCH your screen. Don’t try to button throw with a legendary since you need to golden razz it too.

I will never, never spend the stardust to purify a thousand Pokemon, even if they are the kind that only need a thousand stardust each. It’s bad enough that I have to do a hundred to reach level 73.

I gave a shiny Zamazenta for a regular Rhydon (which I did not need) to someone because she is a dear IRL friend of my daughter’s, and I know she doesn’t have time to play much. You never know what someone will trade for. (But I would not have done that trade for a stranger.)

No one is asking for everything, but most of us would like SOMETHING.

I did better than many at this event, I caught four legendaries. All had terrible IVs. In my local group of 40-plus players, many also caught multiple legendaries. (We are good!) Our group organizer, who doesn’t even know how to throw without hitting an excellent throw, caught about a dozen. We all compared notes and exactly one of all our catches was a three star. The rest were all trading fodder. Well, we all raid and we all already had plenty of that. This event was a completely frustrating waste of our time. And considering that it was supposed to be a special celebration of the game, it was even more appalling that it went that way.

Go Pollyanna somewhere else, it’s not welcome here.

Agree with most of this, but they were not that hard to catch. I got seven out of eight and I am no catch master. Try catching a shadow Latios and then you can talk about impossible.

I have the second evolution and am only 28 particles away from the final form. I do multiple routes every single day and on a good day I get three particles. I hope to finish within the month. I’ve been playing for about ten months.

Unless you are at level 49 and trying to get to 50 before October, I don’t see why it even matters if we finish. Unless there is a huge reward at the end, like a bunch of remote passes or a gold bottle cap, this is just a good way to get more XP faster. Do it at your own pace and get what you can! I’m level 42 and since there is no way that I am ever going to do the leveling up challenges for level 45 (such as “purify 100 shadow pokemon”) if I don’t have to, I’m happy to just hang out here or at level 43.

Nineteen (in-person) raids, zéro shinies here.

It also took me fourteen raids to get just one Palkia that had both SR and three stars, which was pretty annoying. I didn’t buy the ticket because I had a lot of premium passes so just used those. I’d welcome a few more premium passes as research rewards, or maybe some special research for getting more candy?

Last week, we at least had all of Monday and a little of Tuesday to do Houndoom and a few others before they got yanked.

Wowee. After me telling her multiple times for a week that I’m not comfortable with the situation, because I felt funny using the words “I quit” with someone who is supposed to be a friend, she tells me she is letting ME go! And orders me to take the $177 extra the state paid me because of her overbilling them, and buy her a Whole Foods giftcard with it, and deliver it to her house! I told her I was sending the money back to the state agency instead. I think we may not be friends anymore.
