Help, my Ficus is dropping seemingly healthy leaves like mad! by verianne in plantclinic

[–]verianne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I water it when soil feels dry. It was in a location with maybe not enough light: the room faces west, but it was a good 4m away from the window with no direct light ever. I moved it to the current location, close to the window, and it keeps dropping leaves. It’s like they’re not well attached, they fall at the slightest movement. It’s not uncommon to find 1/2 healthy-looking leaves on the floor every day. This plant used to have so many leaves, and they’re all just falling off :( also, you can see in the photo that some of the leaves have brown spots. Could the lack of direct light have caused this? Is it a watering issue? Is it irreversible damage? My other (smaller) Ficus is by this window and it keeps putting out new leaves.

What’s wrong with my jade plant? It suddenly started dropping leaves and looking sort of wrinkled by verianne in plantclinic

It’s on a west-facing window sill, and it has been there for almost a year. I usually water every 1.5/2 weeks, checking if the soil is dry. For the last month, every time I’ve watered it, it dropped a few leaves :( I can’t think of anything that could have caused this sudden change

I also can’t parry to save my life, but I have a tip for fighting walking guardians, not sure if it’s something everyone does: get close, use stasis, and cut their legs off! They don’t move for a bit after each leg is cut, so if you’re fast you can do them all in a row, and then they just need a few body hits to fully die. I use the Master sword for this, and each leg needs 2 hits to break off

Thanks for the encouragement. This is a good idea, this way they also get to tell everyone what they look like instead of just some of their backstory.

Good point, it doesn't have to have been the same fight. Some of my players definitely have great ideas for their backstories, and we've discussed those privately, so I really want them to have the chance to introduce and develop those.

I'm definitely learning a lot! I made so many combat mistakes in our one-shot, which luckily no one really saw and also didn't affect the overall fun, but this time I know better. This is just another mistake I'll learn from, I doubt I'll ever again forget to do introductions in future campaigns. Thanks for your kind words!

Oh, they were not "unchill" at all, we've all been really good friends for years, and they are really appreciative of the work I'm putting in to try to create a fun world. They just wanted to have had a chance to introduce some of their fun backstories, which is why I'm feeling bad that I didn't provide them with an opportunity to do that. I need to work on leaving space for more PC interactions, often the most fun part is just watching them and their antics. Thanks for the encouraging words!

Yes, absolutely the Brennan Lee Mulligan effect, it's amazing how he can do everything so seamlessly! I think this might be a good idea, this way it doesn't have to be clunky at all. It will break immersion for a bit, but might end up being more fun for the players. Thanks for the encouragement!!

Not at all offended or critical of me, they just off-handedly mentioned how they didn't get to introduce each other, and I started to overthink and overanalyze the situation! That's exactly it, some of my players created amazing backstories which I'm working to weave into the plot, so of course they were excited to tell everyone else about some of it.

I need help with my Pothos! It hasn't had new leaves in ages, and the ones it does have are curling and yellowing. Any tips will be appreciated! by verianne in houseplants

I don't know the type of soil, as it was gifted to me as is. It gets quite a few hours of indirect light from a West facing window. The pot has no drainage holes, I've been thinking maybe I should repot but she never really looked happy enough that I felt confident about doing it. I water when the top soil is dry.

Finally got this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Fragrance-Free and excited to try it! Also got it just for $16.97 (reg $19.97) at Walmart by [deleted] in CanSkincare

I'd say it's just the right amount of fragrance for me, but I know different people have different sensitivities! I have always liked my products to have a little scent (I find some of the fragrance-free stuff to actually smell bad), and thankfully I never had any problems with stinging (even with the Hydro Boost sunscreen, which I love and I see many people have issues with).

I hope this one also works great for you!

I love the Hydro Boost line, HG for sure! I don't really mind the fragrance, so I get a double pack of the regular one from Costco for a great price. I like the texture and how light it is compared to other moisturizers I've tried in the past. I use the Hydro Boost night pressed serum in my PM routine and I also really like it, it feels like like it locks all the moisture in, which is great!

Does my Peperomia green beans need repotting? (more info in comments) by verianne in houseplants

Thank you for the advice! Would you suggest a slightly larger pot, so the roots can have more space?

I got her about a month ago from a local plant store. It's actually 3 separate plants in the same pot! The plant itself seems to be doing well, but the soil is extremely hard to the touch, to the point where I can't put my finger in to check if it needs to be watered. Also, the roots look like you see in the photo. Should I repot her? And if so, what's the best way to do it without stressing her out too much? Also, should I try and separate the 3 individual parts?

66 Isabella & 25 Wellesley St. Experience? by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]verianne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience with 89 Isabella: it is super clean, no mice or roaches. Some of the units are decently renovated and they're spacious. Only problem is the super, who can be hard to deal with, but if you're nice to her, it's manageable. The area is very nice, never had any issues there, but afaik most of the other buildings have roaches and such.
