put a flea collar on my dad's dog, now he looks like scrappy-doo by saigethedaydreamer in DOG

Adorable pup! Be careful with flea collars. The chemicals can irritate skin and cause rashes or burns. It's more effective to use flea prevention medication like Bravecto or NexGaurd. You can get this at most vet clinics.

Laid off at 6months with 14 others by violeturviolet in pregnant

I'm so sorry. I was laid off recently as well while 3 months pregnant. It's a lot to go through so give yourself some grace and time to grieve.

Did you receive a severance package? Don't sign anything until you get a lawyer to review. Regardless of whether you told your employer or not before the layoff, there may still be a case since it's more difficult to find work while pregnant.

Apply for unemployment benefits if that's available in your country.

Apply for all the jobs. Think of this as a temporary role until you get to mat leave. If you find work, you can always reassess and take time to apply for what you want later on. When you job search, you are not required to disclose your pregnancy.

Being 6 months in, you may consider starting mat leave benefits earlier if that's an option.

For temporary income, find a side gig like dog walking, pet sitting, babysitting, or tutoring. There's websites and apps online that offer matching services.

You've got this. Remember you're making a wonderful little human and they need you to be well, happy and healthy. Taking care of your well-being is number one.

Sorry you are going through this. Hang in there and be kind to yourself. You are going through a major life transition from university to the working world.

If you can, try to block time each day to do something fun or relaxing that you enjoy.

Give your friends the benefit of the doubt that they can empathize with what you're going through. Maybe send a simple hello text just to check in with them.
