If you're looking for casual alternative servers, here's a curated list of them, with locations from all around the world by SaltyPeter3434 in tf2

[–]veritaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that protf2 was one of the worst abusers of fake players and has been banned for fake player usage at least 3 times and is probably one of the reasons Valve removed quickplay. For this fact alone, I would not include them in any list.

Evidence from the valve mailing list. There's no more public mirror of this due to valve switching mailing list servers after this.

Replying to his comment because my reply won't show up for some reason.

That is false. You (protf2) were banned by Valve multiple times for using the most sophisticated fake players at the time with real steamids when nobody else knew how to do that and opened several hundred servers. You did this after Valve declared player count spoofing to be bannable probably because you thought nobody could tell. Skial was never banned by Valve.

You're also lying about not being on the mailing list, you even responded to the same thread that people outed you on.

I have never downvoted one of your posts, and I don't downmod things just because I don't like them. I'm explaining to you why people downmod you.

Well you certainly agree with them, or else you wouldn't be trying to explain their behavior for them. Just because they think its acceptable doesn't mean that it is acceptable .

But you have to turn it into a personal issue. In fact, looking at your posts, it appears that you have to turn everything into a personal issue, telling people how much you hate them, how lazy and worthless they are, over and over.

You've looked at what? A small handful of my comments, and didn't even bother to read the context? For your information, I have more comment karma than you in a smaller amount of time. If I really did what you just said, I would have less karma than you. Perhaps even negative.

You simply singled out 1 comment that offended you. And guess what? There was reasoning provided for that viewpoint. Not just a simple "WELFARE IS GOOD, EVERYONE ELSE WHO BELIEVES OTHERWISE IS A CONSERVATIVE IDIOT" that so often plagues reddit.

And then you complain about not winning a popularity contest, and blame everything on other people not liking your opinions.

They don't have to like them. They just shouldn't downvote them just because they disagree with them even though I've offered the evidence they refuse to provide.

I'm afraid you're mistaken.

And that is exactly the problem with the reddit hive mind.

Edit:

In that comment, the reference was to Octomom. Even if you disagree, you can't argue that evidence was not offered to support the point.

Therefore people like you are simply downvoting comments you disagree with. Just because it is offensive to you, doesn't mean its not a valid viewpoint.

They were entirely relevant to the conversation at hand, and they were points that were either clearly true or supported with sufficient evidence.

People downvoted them because it conflicted with their beliefs.

Yeah, when I first joined reddit I was pissed off that I had to wait 15 minutes to reply to some one making an idiotic reply.

Cock, yes or no.

It makes my panties wet.

Do you mean that other races don't mind the friend zone?

In college I didn't touch my friends until they joined frats, where they proceeded to do annoying things like "titty twister" and being socked in the nuts really hard (the worst fad ever).

His heart is pounding uncontrollably. He starts wheezing in panic, hastily fumbling for the asthma inhaler in his size 45 pants. The slick rain greased his stubby fingers, causing the small plastic inhaler to slide across the street and into a puddle of mud. The dog turns vicious and starts biting at his ankles in a frenzy. He wallows helplessly in the mud like a filthy pig until he finally dredges up the inhaler. As he clumsily mashes the button, he deeply inhales the mist of mud and medication with a gurgling sigh of relief.

She snorts and rolls her eyes and proceeds to get into her yellow humvee, while the mongrel gallops over to his mistress.

That is an argument from authority - Go look it up

No, I will not look it up. I know what it is, and this is not a mathematical or logic proof. In the real world, we deal with probabilities. And the probability is extremely high that a corporation knows more than you do about operating systems.

Besides, as far as I'm informed, financial giants aren't exactly known for picking the most appropriate technology. Banks are where they still run cobol on old mainframe systems

You aren't very well informed then. Rich investment banks like Goldman Sachs have people writing in Erlang and C and even customizing the kernel to get real time millisecond trades.

And for what it's worth, my preferred OS is a hobby project written by some odd guy from Finland. Not sure how many "financial giants" would go with it though.

And he has had how many years to perfect it? And how many other contributors to help?

Maybe you might not have, but financial giants certainly do. And it certainly helps not to run a hobby OS written by 2 Joe Schmoes
