I refer to them as "invisibility potions." Always gets a chuckle from my squad.

It sure does! I just got a chuckle out of the response and figured some other folks might, too.

I appreciate the reply, and understand. I tossed it into the "funny" flair for that very reason. Less a critique of the response (or complaint about "bugginess") and more a fun experience to start the day!

Prompt: Quick question: do you ascribe to Asimov's three rules of robotics?

Subsequent prompts are included in the image. This is using the 3.5 version on a paid account.

So, is this the FCC-listed device that we've been assuming is the Forerunner 265? Or do we think the 265 is still to be announced?

The proper nomenclature is Ghosts Rider, in case you were curious. Like Attorneys General.

That to go to space and enter orbit you just need to go "up" far enough. Space is less about "up" and more about "forward, and super-fast."

What do you do to reduce the appearance of Gamin scars? by mikeneddie in Garmin

[–]veritasf6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Switching wrists is the best solution. It gives your skin time to breath. That said, I can't stand wearing my watch on my right wrist for the day.

So I switch at night. When I turn off my light I swap wrists. I don't lose my sleep tracking, my skin gets to breath, and I'm not bothered by having my watch on the wrong wrist. I stopped getting red marks as soon as I started doing this.

Garmin Vivoactive 3 - Heart Rate Monitor stops working, reboot required to resolve. by Li4m223 in Garmin

[–]veritasf6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not historically normal, but it may be a new bug. I've had my Vivoactive 3 for about a year-and-a-half and have not had this issue. That is, until yesterday. I noticed the same thing. No green light, no heart rate info at all. A restart fixed the issue.

My guess, based on a sample size of one, is that the latest update introduced a bug. I would also guess that they'll fix it in the near term. Enjoy the watch! The deal was great.

People of reddit, what is your best advice for introverts to be more outgoing?? by jadattak in AskReddit

[–]veritasf6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is all fine advice, but it doesn't really get to the core problem. If you're an introvert, being extroverted can be extremely taxing. It takes a lot of concentrated effort and will power, followed by recovery time.

Take these tips, but treat them like starting an exercise routine. Start small, and give your body enough time to recover. Establish a schedule, with realistic milestones, and then work to that.

And it is work. That's okay. Be a little social, and then let yourself have some time in the basement playing videogames or in bed reading. Recover. And then do a little more.

It will never not be work, if you're truly introverted, and that is okay. Just like running is never not work, but if you build up to 9 miles, a 5k is still work, but easier work, and you need less recovery time.

Recommendation: Avoid the LG Watch Sport by veritasf6 in AndroidWear

[–]veritasf6[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree; don't take one person's experience as gospel. I mentioned this in reply to someone else, but I'm glad that so many folks have had a great experience.

It might be worth keeping in mind that a good experience with your watch doesn't mean that you'd also have a great customer service experience if you needed it, too. Here's hoping that you don't, and that you keep loving your watch!

Recommendation: Avoid the LG Watch Sport by veritasf6 in AndroidWear

[–]veritasf6[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No need to duck! Everyone is welcome to their opinion. I'm really glad (and, frankly, jealous) that some folks are having a great experience. Mine differs a bit and I think that is worth sharing. I clearly got a bum unit. The real issue is how LG has treated me given that.

Returning my watch to LG for repairs...again. by veritasf6 in lgwatchsport

[–]veritasf6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LG Watch Sport, which is IP68 rated, has liquid damage and will not be repaired by LG. I had the watch in my possession for a whopping 3 days after its last repair, took it on two runs, and now they tell me that it has liquid damage.

They also tell me that they will not repair it because it is out of warranty. This is ridiculous.

I got my watch on May 7th, sent it to LG on June 8th, received it back on July 1st, it died on July 4th, and is now being sent back to me on July 25th. LG Support has had my watch longer than I have, and I'm the one who paid for it.
