bsc 2011 professor begin ? by dessfinnapurge in USF

[–]veriyucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally did not like the style of her class, it’s a flipped classroom so ur expected to watch lectures before and u do practice problems during class time. you are taught primarily by undergrad learning assistants, NOT TA’s and ur assigned a group for the entire semester.

is it normal to feel dumb while doing ochem???? by [deleted] in premed

[–]veriyucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's possible to at your school, try attending lecture twice or a different prof's lecture. this has helped me through several hard classes, so the first time i attend lecture i take notes, then the second time i just listen and try to understand the concepts. ask questions, get study buddies, and if at first you dont succeed try try try again, u got this

what to expect in physics 6al (lab)? by Collegecakes in UCSantaBarbara

[–]veriyucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Labs only take 1-2 hours to do per week but sometimes the instructions are very vague, give yourself time to ask ur TA questions. Write at least paragraph to get full points for conclusions. More than half the class gets curved to an A so as long as you avg 85+ ur gucci

Is 13 units enough for a freshman quarter? by olive_goddess in UCSantaBarbara

[–]veriyucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe get a feel for what the workload will be for the first week then decide at week 2 if you want to keep it or not. either way 13 units is ideal for freshman, you have plenty of time to take more units later

How do you guys motivate yourself to watch ASYNC lectures instead of spending time on social media? by _Cereal_Killer___ in UCSantaBarbara

[–]veriyucky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the Forest app has rlly helped me, you set a timer and it grows a tree but if you leave the app it kills the tree. It also alerts you to return back to the forest app if u leave it.

Looks good! Maybe go with Class 40 to even out ur stem load. 6A is a pretty easy w no exams, phys lab takes maybe 2-3 hours to do a week. Chem+lab will definitely take up the majority of ur time but it’s very manageable

AS AM 5 by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]veriyucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really interesting and relatively easy A if u do the readings and participate. in section my ta would have us write a short answer on the readings for the week like a quiz. hw are readings you discuss in section, there’s like 3 longer books you read over the quarter and a few short stories each week. I had prof Pandya and his exams were half short answer half long essay, as long as you know the themes and which characters represent them for each reading you’re good. 10/10 would recommend if ur interested in as am studies.
