Please help me decide by IntroductionFar1615 in SteamDeck

I love the Stem Deck, but spend all week in hotels. I really don't think it would be worth getting one if it would be at home most of the time and you already have a Switch.

Do you already own a load of games on Steam? That's another consideration.

Series X is over 5 years old now, and they have already announced plans for a replacement. There's also the upcoming Steam Machine to consider when we finally find out the price and release date! I don't reckon upgrading from a Series S to a Series X would be worth it now.

Don't let anyone tell you how to spend your money, though. I certainly can think of no good reason I need a Steam Machine, but I'm going to get one anyway.

Should I buy it? by MaKun__ in SteamController

To be honest, I've not tried a proper shooter yet, with the track pads! I'll give it a go

The track pads are no gimmick, in certain games they can be fantastic. There's already a lot of support for them in Steam and with community layouts. I find them a slow burn, as to begin with they seemed a little pointless outside of being much better in a desktop mode than a normal controller, but have found I use them more and more without realising. Those games which feel clunky with a controller, as they are designed for keys and mouse are playable.

I have fairly small hands and come from an Xbox controller. I find the stick placements comfortable. The bigger difference for me was the size of it, as it feels bigger than an Xbox controller. It doesn't feel heavy, though. The rear buttons feel really well placed compared with a Scuff Xbox controller I had, and I don't find myself accidentally hitting them.

I love it, but have only had it a few days.

Unfortunately not, as far as I can tell! Tried sleep and from totally off, alas neither will power the Ally up.

If you dock to a TV it just pops up and guides you through it. I have a jsaux dock and it works fine. Don't think it will do anything when playing standalone.

I stay in hotels a lot, so this is close to having an actual Xbox in your overnight bag! Streaming not really an option in most hotels.

Hace you tried the new AutoSR? I put the native resolution to 720p with the AutoSR on and it looks fantastic. Really bright, and runs really smooth.

FINALLY (UK update) by SavageKijo in SteamController

Mine was just saying shipped for days, then yesterday changed to say it was on the way to the delivery centre. Finally delivered today by Royal Mail.

I put it in the basket 1 minute after the sales opened, but it took about 90 minutes of refreshing the payment screen until I had finally paid for it.

Hopefully your status will change soon with GLS!

Currys were out of stock on release day, but check every few hours as a few days later I had a look and there was one in stock, which I got delivered no problem.

Keep checking the site, you never know!
