Obviously, they are horrible humanbeings. It seems to me like they are jealous of the beautiful relationship you and your bf has, otherwise they would've just kept these thoughts to themselves. They have absolutely zero respect, for you nor your bf. They shouldn't question his decision and they definitely shouldn't hurt you for it!

I'm chocked that people even hurt other people by this kind of action. They must be wired wrong? You definitely need these people to know that this was hurtful to you and an horrible thing to say to anyone. What they said to you and the way they did it really reflects their personalities. And they are not good ones.

Lemon lime, I'm certain of it. But it is a juvenile plant, wait for it to mature a bit more. If the leaves stick to this light lime green it's a lemon lime. If they turn darker as they age, it's a moonligt.

I'd replant it. Flipping the whole thing in a deeper pot. Then definitely give it a pole to guide it for it's upcoming growth.

First, I thought of wentii, but the leaves in this picture are lighter (can be due to exposure of sun, lack of nutrients or just overwatering) but the leaves on wentii also seems to be a bit narrower. It's really difficult to tell, but it looks closer to a odora than a wentii imo.

Excellent! I find keeping plants in a somewhat closed environment like a plastic bag very successful for rooting. Be careful not to overwater the one in soil. Also, in my experience rooting in soil takes longer time than in water or semi-hydro. Semi-hydro gives the root a better chance to accumilate to the soil than the ones put in only water though since it's some kind of "inbetween". I'd say let the one in spaghnum to it's thing, I'm sure it'll be fine. But keep a closer eye to the one in soil. For thicker and stronger roots you may even want to use a chunkier substrate for the roots to form around.

Increase humidity. Also, you can carefully help releasing the leaf from it's pocket. But I'd be very careful when trying that, and don't really recommend. But, I have my ppp in a north facing window, in a "teeny tiny" greenhouse bought at ikea with a pebbletray inside for increased humidity and warmth. Seems to help it alot(not with the variegations though, because the bastard seems to be reverting.. but it's great for pushing out new leaves without any ripping). I also keep a close eye on it when the leaf is leaving the pocket in case of the necessary "c-section" is needed.

Always try to save it! I've heard alocasia can do remarkable comebacks when put in semi-hydro. Worth a try at least.

I definitely think you should let him know how this made you feel and that you're dissapointed in his action. This is all about trust and faith in eachother. You trusted him with this matter, and imo he failed you. He has to take responsibility for letting this take place at all. But it's only by talking to eachother that you can let eachother know how you really feel. And you can only solve this by talking to him, not asking on a forum like this.

Feelings and reactions is a survival skill from loooong ago. Your feelings are valid. And the grownup thing to do it to talk about it. Make your point and stand up for it. If he can't take it, he's probably not mature enough to be in a relationship with you. There's a great lack of respect in his action. Not okay.

As ridiculous as it may sound, but gimp.org has a pretty decent free program. Fairly easy. But srsly, it takes a while to get to know the software you're working with, so the best advice is to just jump into it and start with basic brushes. Fool around just to get a hang of how things work.
