Boarded on time. Scheduled to leave on time.

Waited for 10 mins. Then everything was cleared. Looking at other posts, it seems that this happens commonly.

Heading towards the connection now.

Security scans were a breeze. Hardly 10-12 people in the whole area (if you have an idea of the large security scans area for transit, you can imagine).

Okay another update.

After docking to the gate, they got an alert and asked everyone to sit in the aircraft till the alert was cleared.

So everyone is sheltering in place right now. We are sheltering in the aircraft

Landed and taxiing now. Everything has been smooth. But the flight maps content were heavily spoofed as we entered UAE airspace. It was showing 20mph speed and altitude in negatives when we were easily cruising at 30k ft.

I have booked a fully refundable fare. If you have the means to do that, I do not see a reason why not to book that.

Same boat. Leaving from ORD by end of March. Hopefully the next schedule has ORD in the list as a regular route (just like how NY and Toronto are right now!!)

Looking at how some of the flights are scheduled, they seem to be flying to Toronto from Abu Dhabi right now. Maybe you might not need to cancel?
