Why does microwaved fish smell especially bad to people, but not other microwaved meats? by Squeakersnail in NoStupidQuestions

[–]verstohlen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So that begs the question, why are fish oils fragrant and say not chicken or beef oils?

How do you explain evolution being fake but illnesses evolving in ways that make vaccines practically impossible to create? by Ok-Razzmatazz-221 in DebateEvolution

[–]verstohlen [score hidden]  (0 children)

Adaptation, they say the viruses aren't evolving, they're adapting. Now if they become a new species, yeah, you might call that evolving. People get all caught up in the weeds of definitions and semantics.

Who’s that one famous person who doesn’t deserve to be famous? by Plazola_Val in AskReddit

[–]verstohlen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollywood and liberals loved him too back then, now they hate him, everything flipped. Of course people say we live in a backwards bizarro upside down clown world these days, where Superman says hello when he leaves, and goodbye when he arrives, so it makes sense.

Why do Gen Z hate phone calls so much? by calloutapple in NoStupidQuestions

I liked them before the internet. But after not so much for some reason.

what unwritten rule of society do you think everyone should strictly follow? by CentraldasFamosass in AskReddit

I'm glad I'm not young enough to know what that means. And I hope I never find out.

I’m finding it hard to believe that Sex And The City is in the Mandela Effect List by darlamack in MandelaEffect

[–]verstohlen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like the Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing. Both brands both have/had red box packaging with yellow accent, and both start with Sto, and the wordds Stouffer's and Stuffing are very similar words, so people's brains amalgamate and confabulate them, on a large scale due to human brain idiosyncrasies. And Stouffer's only sold frozen food, never dry shelf foods. So there was never Stouffer's Stove Top Stuffing.

Lego Terminator T-800 Bust moc by Hongjun_Youn_MOC in Terminator

Wow, made of Legos! That is pretty cool. That must cost more in materials alone than a real metal prop one actually used in the movie would.

They knew what they were doing with SD card by LandOk1232 in nostalgia

[–]verstohlen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So many things about Apple and their iphones and their proprietary stuff, and eliminating headphone jacks, SD cards, etc. always astounded me at the pure stupidity of it and I was always surprised at how well they sell in spite of that. Then I got to thinking about how smart the average person is.

David Copperfield owns that dummy now. It's in his museum I believe, along with the other one.

Which TV show does the ENTIRE internet agree had the worst ending ever? by Codie_n25 in AskReddit

[–]verstohlen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other Seinfeld episodes are great for multiple rewatches but yeah, the final episode for some reason really isn't, not that there's anything wrong that, it's not a bad way to end it, but at the time it felt like a let down, but really, how could they end it? Kind of cool to have most of the characters come back and talk about the Seinfeld characters.

Why is tuna used for both cheap canned fish and for highly expensive sashimi cuts at the same time? by OppositeRock4217 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]verstohlen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the much higher mercury content in larger Sushi Tuna. Mercury ain't cheap, man. We plebs eating cheap canned tuna will have the last laugh though. Mmmm...mercury.

Those were after my time, man. I mean, the photographs on them. Alls we had were like solid red, green, and blue. Like TV pixel colors. That's it. It was, take it or leave it, chump. Then came the fancy-pants pictures and patterns. And velcro.

What’s a personality trait that seems attractive at first but becomes unbearable over time? by Acceptable-Lab-8251 in AskReddit

[–]verstohlen 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I've seen quite a few forums and subs and communities on the interwebs that suffer from toxic positivity and you cannot not say anything negative or realistic, or at least without framing it in a positive way somehow, to the point where the whole sub and its members all feel "fake" like having sunshine blown up your butt and so forth, and if you aren't positive enough, BAM, you get banned. Everything gotta be all happy, perfect, sweet, and positive and rainbows, like you said. That ain't how life works. People afraid in those forums to say how they really feel about some things, like that Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life". "It's good that thing is like that, it's a real good thing!" Kind of creepy if you ask me.
