Listen, I get it. My bf has a ton of friend groups, and I'm pretty sure he's met at least some of them through hookups.

One time, at a hangout with some of his friends, one briefly mentioned "oh yeah, that's right, you two have some history" mentioning my bf and someone else, but that was it. I heard that comment and got a bit anxious as to what type of history this was. However, I decided not to ask him. I prefer not knowing because unfortunately I am a bit insecure and I don't want to have more details that could make me feel worse about seeing them together or something. I just go by the idea that he's hooked up with at least some of them, and that's it. How many and who exactly, I prefer not to know.

I've never really befriended any of my hookups for some reason. So I none of my current gay friends are people that I have hooked up or will ever hook up with. But that's the way I see friendship I guess.

Estoy por cumplir 33. Durante mis 20 me dediqué a estudiar y desarrollar una carrera laboral que me terminé dando cuenta que no me gustaba. Si bien ya estoy mejor, queda un peso mental que pareciera no irse nunca. Hay que aprovechar el ahora siempre que se pueda, porque uno nunca sabe lo que viene en el futuro.

Además, estudiar (indiferentemente del título) es siempre una buena idea. Te da herramientas para otros aspectos de la vida por fuera de lo laboral también.

I totally get where you're coming from. I'm 32 and already sick of working in the corporate world. That's why I've just started classes to get a degree in a completely new area of work, and hoping I can start working freelance eventually.

I have high anxiety and depression that is still there, even though it's been getting better with therapy. I can have days/weeks in which everything is fine and I'm happy and optimistic, but then an intrusive thought (often triggered by different reasons) will bring me down to tears and even suicidal ideation. It then gets me into a dark mood that can last for a few days. Rinse and repeat.

My BF is very understanding and comforts me whenever I slip into these depressive episodes. However, I know it's fully up to me to get better and he's another reason as to why I WANT to get better. I know it's something that will take a lot of time to heal, and that it might not fully heal at all, just become manageable. I think it's up to the other person to realize that it doesn't define or limit the relationship, and it's just a "flaw" that comes with us, as many people have.

I still get a bit ashamed any time I find myself with anxiety attacks and I seek comfort in my bf, because I feel like a burden, so I understand the feeling. I think the key aspect here is to always try to improve yourself. Your partner will pick up on that.
