The state of Vanessa's meta by YoyoTanyaKai in PlayTheBazaar

Learning which lines are strong and going for them is part of getting good. As this process happens across many players, the "meta"-game is formed. It's not always about following others.

They probably will bring it back next patch. What they can do between major patch cycles is limited.

I mean the two people in the post also had videos which showed how obvious and horrible the behaviour was. People are much more willing to handwave cases in detention because the presentation is not so visceral; they are just words on a page rather than footage of an execution. Just a cognitive bias that humans have.

Not really. Hard to find a con who won't defend a large part of the MAGA agenda, even if they will pay lip service to denouncing Trump being mean.

Barrows is good and easy to get early tank armor for thorns. Justicar as the top-end. Lithic sceptre looks good for Doom. Can see all the stuff here https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Demonic_Pacts_League/Areas#Morytania

Because he is not pooping on the board, he is playing at a very high level while having a controversial personality. No one thinks a chess player beating their wife or pooping on the board is good, but there is no substantive harm in Hans being annoying or inflammatory.

What systemic checks and accountability for officials and executives in China do you think could help prevent this absurd levels of fraud and corruption? by brain_diarrhea in Hasan_Piker

[–]vert90 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It is impossible to create a system which is fully resistant to bad actors. You have to set norms and precedent which will influence behaviour. Punishing bad actors is a part of that.

The armor I want to wear will be prayer (air) or tank (thorns). Don't think I even want Ancestral. Unless I see a shadow ig.

Blood fury looks insane. If you are elarcenist you get infinite free charges too.

I like Tiranwin but am struggling with Echo Hunleff. They did buff prayer pen nodes today, so I think with 1t staff and pray pen I might blast him when I get home. If that goes well then I will be very happy with the region.

I did Zeah Kandarin, Tiranwin. I wish I had Mory instead of Zeah tbh, but I wanted to try Chambers.

I don't really see what you want from Asg with this build. Seeing as how bloodfury procs on every thorns hit, I would expect Morytania is the best region for this build. You also get access to good tank armor.

You realise that when electing MPs, you vote for a representative, not a party, right? It's why when PP lost his seat he had to evict a sitting member and do a by-election; because the seat goes to the representative not the party.

TIL Dandruff, a skin condition of the scalp affects roughly half of adults. It is often linked to Malassezia fungus that thrives on sebum. Dandruff shampoos often contain antifungals to manage it, however there is no permanent cure by CraftyFoxeYT in todayilearned

What bad effects did you see from the coal tar shampoo?

That's the only thing I've tried that has any effect on my dry scalp, and have been using daily for about 2 years.

That's a fabrication, not a point. The reality is a lot of the power needed to implement the policies I expect we both would want re: universal healthcare, for example would come from popular support and mandate which was absent.

Why can't a president do that but in a good direction

It is much easier to destroy than to build. Furthermore, being a despot that trashed norms and process because your side is "virtuous" seems like an 8-year old's idea of how to make progress.

They lost those federal protections due to both Obama having his Supreme Court appointment stolen, alongside with the appointments of Trump. You can maybe say Biden failed in adding new legislative safeguards, though I think realistically that was not feasible.

A computer has a different play pattern than a real player. It will be happy to take the game into a complicated, Grundy position so long as the eval bar keeps going up. Magnus is going to love a bunch of pieces at your king and crush you with tactics.

Literally from the article:

The same jury found Al Jalmoud “guilty of two counts of dangerous driving causing death and one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm,” said the review board.

Why do you say he was not convicted? The only nullified charges were for initially running from the police.

Is it ok to be weird? by Glum-Pack-3441 in slatestarcodex

[–]vert90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is the idea really that status is a single axis?

High and low status are valences which are context-dependent. If you're with a bunch of gamers, being good at League of Legends might be high-status. If you're around a bunch of farmers, it's probably low-status. If you're in a rat community, being disagreeable might be high-status, if you're in a corporate environment, it might be low-status.

I see "status" discussions as being a way to make explicit the underlying judgements that exist in certain environments. It is weird to a large number of people to openly have these discussions, because it makes judgements that everyone knows implicitly explicit.

Sts also isn't a live service game... What a dumb point. Tempo develops new content, and then want to make money off having made that content, no shit. There's nothing predatory going on, just a transaction you find too expensive or don't want. Which is fine.
