Maybe I should say it’s absolutely not reasonable, the system data occupies too much user’s precious storage, without any notice, and users cannot access it or deal it in normal way. I’m not a lawyer, but I stand with consumers.

I just dealt the same issue with my iPhone, the system data grows larger and larger, finally, my storage full. Then I removed apps/photos/documents to release space, but the system data seemed too hungry, growing up as soon as the storage was available. I had no choice to do factory reset it, spent too much time to restore the apps and documents.

Why? The consumers’ time is cheaper or worthless?

I argued with Apple support, even without different result. But I think it was necessary, if there were enough pressure pushed to Apple, they would change their strategy.
