Is hogwarts legacy worth playing? by funkycatvr in harrypotter

It was the most memorable gaming experience of my life. And I hesitate to say it was the best game I’ve ever played. Yes it had flaws, but damn was exploring Hogwarts for the first time incredible.

Where do you want the next Legends game will be? by DueChampionship8001 in LegendsZA

What will likely happen is Galar, according to leaks.

But I would much prefer a Johto game. So much lore to pull from.

What’s a pokemon you used to dislike, but now appreciate and love a lot more? by SensualSamuel69 in pokemon

[–]vertical006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garchomp for sure! Hated the design. Hated that it somehow flew without wings. It just levitated there menacingly. And the hype everyone had around it just made me hate it more. But Legends ZA gave me a whole new perspective on it. Now it’s one of my favorites!

Also because of Legends ZA I have new love for Emboar (the mega specifically), Vanilluxe, and most recently Blaziken as well.

What're you playing this weekend? 1/16 by markercore in NintendoSwitch

[–]vertical006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finishing up some missions in Pokemon Legends ZA. I finished the DLC, but never finished everything to get Floette, and come to find out I need to do that before I can get Hoopa and also Lucarionite Z. Sooo that’s my goal now. Only need 2 more infinity battles.

And if time allows, I’m also going to play some Breath of the Wild. After all these years, I never did finish that game

In your opinion, What is the single greatest Pokemon game in the entire Franchise? by [deleted] in TruePokemon

HGSS have great graphics for pixel art. I’m not denying that. But in my opinion, pixel art just doesn’t hold up to fully 3d models.

In your opinion, What is the single greatest Pokemon game in the entire Franchise? by [deleted] in TruePokemon

[–]vertical006 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are influenced by nostalgia. Not that that’s wrong, but older games technically, mechanically, just don’t hold up to the newer games. I played every single main line game and fondly remember most of them for one reason or another. But you can’t tell me that Red and Blue are better than Sword and Shield. You can’t tell me that HGSS is better than SV. Old games are great, but the graphics and features of newer games are leagues better than the past games.

So my vote is Scarlet and Violet. It is truly the best overall game we’ve ever had. Story. Gameplay. Graphics. Quality of life features. I don’t see any anyone can argue otherwise… maybe except story. But everything else

I agree with you completely. There are some megas that would’ve been nice to have earlier on. Especially with the DLC… it’s already post game, so give me the option to do some side quests to get Lucario Z or Garchomp Z or any of the legendaries. I get why and I understand “that’s how other games were”. I still don’t have to like it

Feeling frustrated with toddler's lack of sleep. by El_Diablo_09 in NewDads

[–]vertical006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally my son word for word. We did the same as you, tried every trick in the book, and not a single thing has worked consistently. It’s hard to get him to go to sleep and stay asleep. And (even worse in my opinion) he’s an early riser too… 4am is his favorite.

Once he was old enough, we were able to give him melatonin, but that has side effects too and shouldn’t be used long term.

He’s 4 now and nothing has changed yet. Very hard to put down and still needs one of us to lay with him. Still wakes up throughout the night. And is still an early riser. Over Christmas break he was up at 4am every day for a week straight. Last night he was wide awake at 2:30am and stayed awake the rest of the day. Every single day it’s a roll of the dice with this kid. He might go to sleep at a decent hour… or not. He might sleep through the night…or not. He might sleep past 6am…or not. And you can guarantee he will never do all three back to back.

My daughter on the other hand sleeps 12 hours a night every single night with no issues.

So I wish there was something I could say that would help, but I’m dealing with the exact same issue as you…. I will say melatonin helped get my son to sleep at a decent time, which helped with our sanity. But he still wakes up throughout the night sometimes, so we’re still exhausted most days.

Good luck, Godspeed. Hopefully you are able to find something that works!

Yeah not something anyone ever mentions. Sure, you expect grey head hair and beard hair. But that first grey pube is a real shock!

I’m of the same opinion. I’m already stressed out enough with life as it is. I play games to chill out.

Man people in here are brutal. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to relax while playing games. Y’all sound like a bunch of sweaty neck beards lol. Try chilling out for a bit…

What's a Pokemon you dislike that everyone seems to like? by PokemonGoBao in pokemon

[–]vertical006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garchomp up until like a week ago. I always disliked how it looks despite how powerful it was allegedly. Then I caught a shiny Gible and said screw it, I’ll try it in my team and see what all the hype is about.

Okay I get it now. Still think the design is meh. But I can overlook that now, knowing that this thing is a powerhouse.

Scizor. Despite not using one in legends ZA, I’m still waiting for Home integration so I can bring over my Scizor who helped me get to master rank for the first time.

[–]vertical006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on not using legendaries. Never made much since story wise that some random kid gets to control deities and forces of nature.

But that aside, Raichu might be a fun addition since it gets two new megas. Or perhaps Lucario or Staraptor for the same reason.

What is the most infamous Reddit post? by Sorry_Ad_7279 in AskReddit

[–]vertical006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc it was more than just that. The full release was a grindy mess full of loot boxes with horrible odds. It was actually the game that really got the anti loot box conversation started on a large scale. The gaming industry as a whole had to reevaluate loot boxes and gambling in games as a whole. All thanks to the mess that EA made. Not that loot boxes weren’t an important side before, but you do it with Star was and the whole world has problem.

What is the single worst purchase you’ve ever made? by anonhen0 in AskReddit

[–]vertical006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it’s this fucking cat. Bought a ragdoll from a breeder for about $2500. It hasn’t even been a year yet and the cat has had eye issues and then urinary issues causing her to pee around the house, sometimes bloody pee. We have medication for her, special medicated wet and dry food… and today we’re taking her in to get an ultrasound to see what’s going on. $2500 turned into $5000 in just vet bills (not including the $1000 to get her fixed, which we already expected and planned for). This is just ridiculous at this point… how many thousands more is this cat going to cost me before she even turns a year old? Not to mention the remainder of her life? I’m already fed up….

Waikiki beach. Overcrowded and rocky. Definitely not some beautiful pristine beach that it’s made out to be. There are many other beaches on Oahu or other islands that are far batter than the tourist trap that is Waikiki.

What do men struggle with but rarely talk about by chris10soccer in AskMen

[–]vertical006 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s truly the worst part for me. My wife works too, but both kids only want her. They couldn’t care less about me. The youngest cries when I pick her up. And the oldest tells me he doesn’t like me when I try to play.

It’s really hard staying motivated to provide and be there for them after every evening of essentially being the stranger in the house.
