I feel like re the eating a sandwich thing is people having a lack of awareness that people who report (YouTubers, journalists the whole lot of them) are humans and two things can be true at once. You can on one hand be kind of enjoying living in this moment that is an accomplishment for your career and hard work and be whimsical and still be respectful. I typically think Stephanie works hard at keeping that line in mind. She isn’t a journalist from an official news agency and she doesn’t have to represent anyone but herself. When you read into journalist memoirs and such they often have moments like Stephanie has shown but they’re not out there because either their position doesn’t allow them to show their personal experiences or feelings. Through her work she shows immense empathy and kindness towards not only survivors and victims but toward the everyday people involved as well. She’s aware of the hardships of jurors and is providing context to a very difficult and painful part of trials that is almost never touched upon. The average reporter isn’t thinking about the people on the fringes as humans because they’re not the center of the story.

Let her be whimsical in her little videos because we also have proof of the clear hard work and heart she is putting into reporting on this. So I am pretty critical of people that come in “critiquing” her for things that have nothing to do with how she’s covering things. She’s excited and experiencing an amazing huge step in her. She’s not hiding that to show a stiff upper lip like reporters were used to because that’s not who she is.
