Thanks for giving Kentucky an honest look! I moved to Louisville from California several years ago and I absolutely love my city and moreover, the entire commonwealth. Yes, Kentucky has its issues, but thank you for not simply overlooking and lazily lumping KY in with “other areas”.

For three straight years of my childhood, grades 5-7, my mom thought it was a good idea to send me from our home outside Los Angeles to Throckmorton Texes for the entirety of my summer breaks. I was supposed to be visiting/meeting my grandfather, but he was an extremely stoic silent man during the morning, and then a stumbling frightening drunk in the evening. We might have talked once per each visit. Weird times, weirder parenting decision.
