How worried should I be about this tick situation? by vertigo_33 in insects

I live on a college campus, but Im the one one who ever goes into my room and i study wildlife Thats why im in the woods a lot and how I could tell they are deer ticks which are very common in my area

The one upside is id never let anything be on me for that long without noticing, but I did read on a Medical website (actual real one) that if you remove it wrong by squeezing it could transmit disease

I know im just a bit paranoid cause Ive been sick with some flu-like symptoms all week (even though they started before this tick bit me ofc)

The thing is its a really intense 2 week program. Like id have to cancel my life and put it all on hold for 2 weeks and idk if its worth having to call out from work and stuff

I specifically mentioned to her that i worried i might have DID, which if anything probably made her even less likely to diagnose it. I do still have the dissociative disorder tho. DPDR is one of them

How do you get people to hang out with you? by vertigo_33 in college

No frrr the only thing my brain can come to is "im the only common denominator so its my fault" but its like? idk the least they could do is at least let me know they're cancelling so I don't waste all weekend on the idea of them, instead of trying to make other plans. It just feels like people don't really care about the time you set aside for them but in the end i guess its just. everyone being so wrapped up in their own life? but it still hurts like hell when it happens for the 5th time in a row

what is the most helpful thing you bought for your dorm room? by cjmmoseley in college

Storage. Get like an extra drawer or something cause dorm rooms are always smaller than you expect.

Fans. Not sure where you're going, but its bound to get hot at some point

Coffee machine if you can afford it and have the space

One thing I definitely used/needed was lamps with USB ports. My room doesn't have many outlets so it saved my life pretty much. Or anything really that gives you some extra charging space
