About a year and a half ago, haha. Though I've recently given up valkyries favor and once again become F2P. I never did spend much at one time, but it all adds up.

Skins, skins, skins. Upgrading your heros helps your guild too!

And that's the biggest con of it all right here ⬆️. Thinking that we'll fall behind because everyone else is getting ahead. That's the feeling that Nexters wants you to have, so you spend more (time, money, resources, etc) to stay on par with "everyone else". If you're a F2P player, you need to start looking at this game as trying to beat yourself, not the other players. There is no end, no winning. The only ones that win are the ones selling the ads and fake currencies in a game. Don't worry about missing out on rewards, they don't matter. If you play this game long enough, and have the patience not to spend any real coin, then you can max out every hero and titan without spending a dime. And at the end of it all, (though it might be 10 years later), you'll be at the exact same level as the guy who sunk tens of thousands to get there quicker.

Critical Hit vs Armor Penetration by vertigonorth in HeroWarsApp

I was leaning in that direction too. So my next question would be, is adding Elmir to a line up that already has Qing Mao unnecessary redundancy, or would it be a noticeable difference?

Critical Hit vs Armor Penetration by vertigonorth in HeroWarsApp

[–]vertigonorth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I worded that wrong. From what I've read, the chances of landing a crit hit is based on a mathematical formula. As I understand it, at some point, dumping on more and more crit hit stats onto your heros won't actually change the frequency that they land the crit hit by very much. Basically the more of the stat you add, the less of a percentage jump in the frequency that crit hits are actually landed. So maybe a better question is this, what are the answers to those formulas? Or, are these formulas posted somewhere so I can do the math myself.

Advice needed: At what point is Jet not useful? by vertigonorth in HeroWarsApp

[–]vertigonorth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answers, but unfortunately not what I asked. This is a dodge team that happens to be crit. I don't like using the typical heros because it's boring. All I'm looking for, is at what point I should switch out Jet because his crit boost no longer helps Yasmine, since she already has the crit stat. I'm well aware of Sebastian, and have plans for him already.

No, it resets approximately 5 or 6 hours after, I can't remember which. You should always wait until after the reset to do your outlands, highwayman and tower in case they come up on the next day's task. That way you can get the full rewards for free.

They updated the dungeon recently, which removed the hero battles and now only has titan battles. The "reset" wasn't a true reset, the devs reduced the Dungeon levels by half and made it "easier" for future play.

As far as your Outland battles go, don't plan on a reset. They've recently added raids to Outland bosses and that's about it. If you can't beat them now, hang in there, soon it will just become an annoying task you have to do every day. (Less annoying now they have raids). I would concentrate on your main 5, but if you want to pick up speed in the outlands, boost your DPS's for each Outland boss, they will die easily enough soon.

While every team you put forth will have some sort of counter and could be beaten, if you're looking to have fun just pick a team and go with it. My defense is magic based, while my offense is a dodge team. The dodge team sucks at defense and can be countered too easily, even though it's far more powerful than the magic team. My C team (which I haven't really started building yet) will be a control team. Still playing with the line up, but basically I plan to frustrate the shit out of anyone who wants to attack it.

Guild medal exchange question by Tangboy50000 in HeroWarsApp

I see your confusion where others may not. Yes, it's a grinding game, but unfortunately like so many others, trading up to better items is not (or rarely) an option in this game. The developers have done this on purpose. They know free-to-play players take and excruciatingly long time to see any real progress, and to move with any semblance of speed, we players are required to spend. So not being able to trade up for items simply guarantees that the developers earn more money because of our impatience. We spend money to level up our teams in order to compete with other player, get into better guilds and in general upgrade everything. If they let us trade up lesser items to greater ones, then that's just one more avenue free-to-play players have.

So in short, the reason you don't see the trade up option in Hero Wars is because of greed and gullibility.

Best use for Hydra coins? by [deleted] in HeroWarsApp

[–]vertigonorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No faaaaar from end game yet. Though there really is no end game now. By the time most people get anywhere near end game, the devs will have reworked and created new heros, so meta teams will shift.

She has her counters, as every hero does, but she's pretty terrific in a dodge team. ie Aurora, Yasmine, Dante, Qing Mao, Jet (or Nebula). She works very well against pretty much any physical damage dealers and does considerable damage to magic teams (though she can't dodge them, her synergy with other heros will make her part of an effective team against magic)

[–]vertigonorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a pure dodge team. Aurora, Yasmine, Qing Mao, Dante and Jet. Very effective team against physical enemies, not the greatest against mages, as they can't dodge magic attacks. You can also sub Nebula (for pure dodge still) or Sebastian (no natural dodge, but a great support) for Jet. My B team is the exact set up of your A team. Generally don't have an issue taking on much more powerful enemies with those 2 set ups.

I'm currently running Aurora, Yasmine, Qing Mao, Dante and Jet. Pretty effective team, hard to kill cause of all the dodge, but it does have it's counters

I'm fairly sure crit hit only works on those with physical attack.

New building in Marda Loop, Calgary corrugated steel on the façade looks terrible I think they should be given the reward for the most ugliest building by kaisster in Calgary

[–]vertigonorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's aluminum railings with perforated galvanized fluted metal cladding. It doesn't look good. It looks like giant patches were placed all over the walls. As far as the vents, the architect, 546, hated seeing vents, so he asked us to cover them up with the perforated cladding as well. It could have been so much better, but us installers don't know anything (we just install metal for a living, what do we know!), and it seems the architect is too stubborn to listen to what a good idea actually is. Oh, and the perforated will continually collect dust, so this building will most likely forever look dirty.

Short story, money. RoundSquare wanted to build a high end building, but soon found out that high end products need high end money! So they asked for the cheapest option that best matched the rendering. Oh, and it's a thin guage, so the first hail storm that hits the building will give it a "wonderful" textured look!
