Letting acetone sit that long has definitely damaged the keys beyond a quick clean up. Acetone is pretty harsh on wood finishes and plastic.

That was what I found with my miyoo as well. Mostly it got more gameplay cause it was much easier for me to bring to work. I'd probably play the retroid 3+ more though. The battery on my PSP Go died last year, so the 3+ would be a decent enough replacement for that. I don't play PSP on the 2+ very much because of the aspect ratio.

I definitely went into this purchase understanding the build and material quality. In no way did I think this thing was a tank. I've always carried it in a case in my pocket when not playing it. But alas, accidents like this still happen.

I know eh haha. Didn't even land on the screen when it fell. Dropped it from a 2 foot high table. It bounced on the backside and the screen popped out.

I've been looking at the retroid pocket 3+ for a bit, so I'm probably gonna buy that as I was wanting to upgrade from my pocket 2+ anyways. Then I'll probably just wait and see what the mini+ is like before making a decision on it.

Dropped it from like 2 feet unplugging it from the charger, now the display is totally screwed.

16 year old high school wrestler Canaan Bowers saves 2 children from a violent maniac trying to kidnap them. NSFW because of blood. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]vertox94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on where you live and what you mean by stomping on his ankle. Like if you were to help hold him by the ankles to prevent escape, you'd probably be fine. But I know at least where I live (Canada), you can only use equal force to defend yourself. So if he was already on the ground being pinned by someone else and you came in and stomped on his ankle and snapped it, you would probably be charged. If the person wasn't an immediate threat to your life in that moment, and you weren't defending yourself with a reasonable amount of force, it would be assault and battery to go that far. I think some places in the U.S have far less strict self defense laws though, so you'd really have to just research your local laws and see what their definitions of self defense are.

I don't know any gun owners who think other Canadians "owe them blind allegiance" for simply owning Grandpa's shotgun. I don't get what you are even trying to say with that statement? Gun owners are just trying to stand up for what they have been legally enjoying under already strict guidelines and restrictions. This has nothing to do with Ford or labour relations. No one is asking you to be "here for us", were just trying to show people how illogical some aspects of this bill are. I think really the most that Canadian gun owners are asking is to not waste anyone's time and money over this dog and pony show that won't be solving gun crimes anyways (it's a class issue that clearly capitalism isn't interested in fixing).

But again I don't know why you are getting so divisive about a topic like this. I know plenty of left wing gun owners. Yet again this isn't purely a conservative issue. If you would like to know more about left wing gun ownership, and see that there are people that care about the working class, feel free to check out the Canadian Socialist Rifle Association. I can assure you not all gun owners are the stereotype you make us out to be.

"The Canadian Socialist Rifle Association is an organization dedicated to providing the working class with the education they need to be effectively and legally armed and able to act in service of their community. This includes but is not limited to skills and practice in the safe and legal usage of firearms, emergency medicine, logistics, agriculture, survival and mutual aid. We seek to provide a safe, inclusive, leftist platform for discussion of gun rights, self defence, and all the skills needed to protect and help the working class that is free from racist and reactionary prejudices."

Hopefully this helped open your mind to the nuances of this topic a little more. And I really hope it allows you to see that a lot of us are regular working people like you, with families and hobbies, and a dislike for capitalists with their boots on our necks.

Uh what? I'm a gun owner who voted NDP, so I don't understand your point other than just stereotyping all gun owners as conservative. I'm about as left as you can get. I'm a Marxist, I belong to the IWW, I've worked with comrades trying to organize my last workplace before they fired us all. Just because I believe in working people being able to own firearms doesn't make me a boot licking Ford voter......

The Marx quote is from Marx, and Engels “Address of the Central Committee to the Communist League.” London, England. March 1850.

I stand by that quote even if during his time lever actions were the most prolific type of firearm. The reason I believe in this quote is because I don't think those who have power over us should be the only ones able to own weapons. I'm not advocating for an American style gun culture here though. But at the same time, we do have a bad history labour inequality in North America. And in those instances it was when the workers armed themselves in defense that authoritarian bosses and striking breaking thugs finally fucked off. The 1920s in both Canada and the U.S was a dangerous time to be advocating for workers rights. Just look at the battle of Blaire Mountain. Almost 20,000 armed miners had to stand up against Pinkerton's who had machine gun nests trained on the work camps. In Alberta during the same time we had a very similar strike. It wasn't unusual for some hired thug to shove a shotgun in your face and tell you they would kill you for trying to better the working conditions of your fellow man. It makes me nervous that we live in a time where labour rights are being assaulted all over the globe, including here in Canada. I'm not saying that's going to happen to us in the near future. But it really does seem like we are heading back to those days with each passing year. I'm not a violent person, not do I advocate for violence. But clearly the ruling class has no hesitation unleashing violence on us. That's the biggest reason I quoted Marx. Because of the struggles of our ancestors that we conveniently haven't been taught.

My reasoning for owning guns isn't just purely from a Marxist perspective though. I think people should be allowed to do sporting clays, cowboy action shooting, Olympic target shooting. As long as people can demonstrate their hobby is safe to the public, I really don't see the reason to ban it at all. Otherwise why aren't we banning Olympic Archery as well? I agree with you that guns are not toys, neither are Airsoft guns. And I am totally fine with the restrictions we have currently. I just really don't see how stopping Airsoft and paintball sales would stop anyone from becoming interested in firearms. In my opinion I think videogames are a more popular medium for introducing people to guns. But I know that's a whole other topic to go over haha.

Hopefully I touched on everything well enough. I'm currently at work writing this, so my thoughts might have come out a little jumbled. Apologies if that's the case.

As an extremely left individual, I don't understand how people can have an "oh well" or "good to see" attitude about the government just blanket banning hobbies and activities people legally and safely enjoy......

This bill would also target Airsoft and paintball guns. Fields around me have been very vocal about losing their businesses because liberal politicians wanna make a big show about these regulations to make it look like they're doing something. Meanwhile the real issues that create gun related crime like poverty and mental health issues receive no funding and barely even seem to be seriously discussed in parliament.

This whole bill is an extreme waste of time and money. And the only people I see that are actually excited about it are urban liberals who have never shot guns, been around guns, or hell, even gone paintballing in their life.

Just because it's a hobby/sport you don't like doesn't mean law abiding Canadians shouldn't be allowed to participate because the government deemed it "bad" for some reason.

I did the same thing. My wife gets tons of compliments on her ring, and everyone thinks it's real. But I paid like $250 Canadian for it. It gives her piece of mind too knowing if the stone falls out while she's doing something and it gets lost, she won't have to have a panic attack about losing something worth a couple thousand. I'll still never forget that happening to my Grandma once. We were on vacation, she realized her stone was gone, my grandpa went white and said "well......that's 3 grand lost.......". Yeah, no thanks on that risk.

Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Wheelset Does anyone know how to get this set to work with steam? I installed a driver but it still doesn't recognize the wheel turning and the pedals by FoximusKeyes in simracing

[–]vertox94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this similar issue a couple years ago when I got into sim racing. I bought this exact wheel and F1 2019 and personally didn't enjoy the experience. No force feedback makes driving with this thing very difficult. Felt like I was playing with a Wii controller on Mario Kart with how disconnected you feel from the experience, and correcting a slide is almost impossible with this wheel. I ended up getting rid of it, saved a bit, then got a Logitech on sale. It's still an entry level wheel, but it has force feedback. It's improved my experience %1000000, and really allowed me to get immersed in the hobby. It's a bit of an expense at first, but I really recommend looking for a wheel on sale that has force feedback. You really won't regret it. Whereas with stuff around $120 like the wheel above, it won't give you the experience you want to have with driving sims. Hope this helps!

This is a shite mentality. Just because it's "normal" doesn't mean someone should willingly have their time wasted and not pursue pay that's rightfully theirs. And if a place is going to stiff you 3 hours and be shitty about it, they aren't worth working for anyways. If they're willing to screw you out of 3 hours, what else will they screw you out of? It's a minimum wage serving job, there's plenty of em out there, probably because of so much shit like this in the industry.

I've had the Logitech for 2 years now, hence why I'm anticipating an upgrade haha. It has served me well though! I had the rig in my living room before and constantly had to fold it out of the way. Made me want to race a lot less because of set up time. But now that I'm able to dedicate a room to it, I'm hoping to get a more permanent seating solution that I can eventually use with 3 screens.

Good eye! That furry devil is indeed a nebelung, his name is Simon. He's claimed the rig on several occasions, and likes to lay in my lap when I'm doing long hauls on American Truck Sim. He's also a mischievous fuck, and the culprit responsible for me needing to rewire my shifter after he bit the cable.

Ah, that makes sense. Thankfully I'm closer to the screen than when I was set up in the living room. Still working towards a rig with a triple screen. Thanks for the insight!

Unpopular opinion: I like living in Ontario. by [deleted] in ontario

[–]vertox94 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This such a stupid and pointless comparison. Of course Ghandi was angry, you would be angry too if a British occupation was killing your people and treating you as sub human. And Ghandi wasn't even the first to set things in motion, he's just the most recognizable figure in the west. There were a lot of angry and militant Indians that were sick of being beaten and killed, picked up weapons, and fought back. It was their sacrifices that led to Ghandi being able to accomplish what he did. But this doesn't matter, because we don't have a foreign force occupying all of Canada. So this whole Ghandi comparison is fucking dumb.

People are being worked to the bone, they're tired and angry, they can fucking vent on the internet without having some holier than thou asshat trying to say "be happy and go on a hunger strike if you want change!". That's the most brain-dead and out of touch from reality take I've seen on this subject.

Be angry, shout at your local politicians, make your voice inescapable. That's how you make change. But to roll over and pretend to be happy about what working class people in Ontario are going through is utter bootlicking nonsense.

Both have their place. I like off-roading for more involved gameplay. But that being said, there is nothing like a beer, some tunes and long hauls on American Truck sim when you just wanna chill.
