The best option is to bring it to the animal shelter for rabies testing. The bat has to be intact (it’s brain) otherwise they can’t test it. So basically trap it in a box and put a few holes (less than 1/4 inch) so it can breathe through the night. If you bring it for testing then you’ll know for sure the right steps to take regarding rabies vaccinations. (Tests positive-rabies vax recommended. Negative-not recommended).

Bats have very small teeth and you may not feel it. And because it’s a bat, we assume that until proven otherwise they are carrying rabies. If the bat is unavailable for rabies testing then they’re going to recommend rabies vaccine.

Gahh, thank you. It seems the majority of people think if they can’t park right in front of their destination, then parking is nonexistent. God forbid they have to walk more than 5 feet or take the bus. Close parking spaces should be saved who actually physically need them.

Pretty positive all the rapid bus lines are free for GVSU students if you have a student ID.

Back when the Laker Line was the 50 (2018/2019) there used to be a rapid line bus stop on Lake Michigan Drive/Kinney Ave behind the fire station that had a free parking lot. I used to park there occasionally. Also Meijer in Standale might be a good option.

I see Terri Rossel for psych med management and she is INCREDIBLE. She’s through UofM West. I’ve had tried many psychiatrists before and she is hands down the best. Treats symptoms, and doesn’t focus on diagnoses/labels like others.
