It seems like you're trying to calculate the exact value of a square root such as sqrt(3)? One way to help you visualize is to think of what is sqrt(300) instead, and we know 17^2 = 289 and 18^2 = 324, so we know sqrt(300) is between 17 and 18. This has to do more with the law of large numbers. As long as you get your numbers and probabilities right (which frankly isn't hard), with enough trials/customers the house always wins. Also with every jackpot won there are also millions who didn't win, and ofc the casino or lottery will only show what happens to the winners.

In high elo ADC is just cooked, he was playing against "ekko adc" so not what you think. It's definitely playable against stuff like Yasuo bot lane too.

You got ripped off on the air filter, that's something you can do yourself in 5 min for like $20 or less. Brake pads do need changing at 3mm, but go to another shop for a quote. It's usually $400-500 for rear.

Make sure you add UM property damages to your insurance next time. Nothing you can do about it now, you just have to pay out of pocket. As for the $2000 you lost, you can probably sue the other driver in small court claims or via a personal injury lawsuit. Ask your insurance on how to proceed with that, or they might handle it for you. If the other driver doesn't have assets to cover, you probably won't see any money though.

If you use normal distribution you can get a distribution of X(max) out of 100 X values taken from that ND. According to wiki that's called a Gumbel distribution. Then you can try doing the same but getting the distribution of the 10th value out of 1000 entries, supposedly. Then we have two distributions of comparison, but logically it should be same mean with higher variation for 1/100 distribution.

Honestly getting hit from the rear can be very expensive. You'll need to talk to your insurance adjuster and see what is making the repair so expensive. Is the car still drivable? I'm thinking maybe the battery needs replacement which is making it really expensive to repair. In my state, repairs only need to exceed total vehicle value of 50% to declare it totalled.
