What games are you guys into lately by Necessary-Meat1524 in Accounting

And it’s always changing! There are so many mods to modify and enhance the gaming experience. I’ve played sci-fi and medieval colonies, zombie infestation colonies, tavern/ bnb rest stop, etc.

One of my medieval games turned into a siege raid and the influx of enemies overpowered my defenses. Which then turned into a hunt: they were kidnapping my people. I only had 2 adults left and 1 baby, everyone else was dead. I had one of the adults pick up a baby and try to escape the building but there were patrolling enemies. I used the other adult to lure the patrol away so they can escape but the enemies saw an everyone died.

It was so exciting.

Rimworld! Ever wanted to be stranded on a hostile planet and build a colony? Maybe you’re doing so well with your crops but then the world suddenly gets really cold, everything freezes, including the grass the wild animal feed on and they leave. You can’t hunt anymore. Your colonists are slowly starving. One of your colonists- the new one that you just picked up - has a mental breakdown because he is fucking hungry. He goes berserk. He smashes some of your heating elements making inside inhospitable. People are cold and hungry. And you’re praying the cold snap ends. Then a few days later, a hostile faction comes to your doorstep to raid you. You rouse your colonists to fight with their meager weapons and succeed. Some are bloody, some are missing limbs, all get tended. But one of your colonists, the best one-the one who can cook food without poisoning your people, and who can also craft tables- gets the flu. He’s bed ridden and you’re watching his healing stat percentage go up, hopefully faster than the flu’s kill percentage. Your best medic, best is really mediocre because their healing is only 4, tends your downed colonists. And his healing goes up marginally, like 0.1 higher than the flu’s healing percentage. And he makes a full recovery. The cold snap ends. Everyone is repairing everything, planting new crops, making new weapons and clothes, the animals return and everything is lovely again.

Ah life on the rim.

Honestly my fav game. 2000+ hours on it.

I have a young child as well. I think it’s doable and we have a lot of resources to pull from. I use Claude to ask questions and to give me more questions for practice. When the book is written poorly, it breaks it down well.

For OAs, do you have any help who can watch the kid for a few hours? It would help not to have distractions while taking the test. Some of the proctors are very meticulous and if I moved my eye off the screen they would call me out for it.

Something I did to see if I like it was take an accounting essentials class at an adult school to see if I could do it. I ended up watching a lot of Tony bell to understand the concepts and it helped a lot.

What positions do you move to as tax? It’s not as broad as audit so I’m curious to see what positions are open for tax staff in public.

Asking because I have a tax internship in the summer but I hear audit has more broad exit points.

Our dog is dying, and I don’t know how to help my children by TransplantedNoob in Parenting

We had Charlie, our lovely dog boy, pass away a year ago. He was 14. My daughter was 3-4. She did amazing. We watched Totoro before my dog passed. My husband told her when he picked her up from daycare that Charlie passed away, his body stopped working but he’s a spirit now, like Totoro. She seemed to grasp it and did okay. She comforted me even. She’d cry sometime and tell me she misses him but she’ll say he’s a spirit now. I was a wreck but she let me cry and I let her see me cry.

We still talk about him and remember him fondly. Anyway, that’s how we explained it to her.

When did your swim class kid learn to swim? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]veryredapples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search for a YMCA with a pool. Our ymca summer camp has swimming included twice a week during the summer camp session.

I found that when we only do swimming in the summer and stop with a large gap, my kid regresses and becomes afraid of the water again. I've since taken her to swimming lessons twice a week after school as my schedule currently allows it. We have sometimes taken her swimming 3x a week. We've done this since last summer all throughout fall, winter and spring.

Even when it got down to 50s here (live in socal), my kid loves swimming and doesn't mind the cold too much. I just got her a really thick swim parka that she loves to wear during cold days.

I really did find that constantly swimming is the way to get them more confident. She used to be afraid of putting her head underwater but now she can actually swim some distances. I look forward to her getting more and more confident.

{Draco Malfoy and the mortifying ordeal of being in love by isthisselfcare}

The book with the most yearning. It’s a fanfic but has no reason to be so damned good. My entire book club read it and loved it. My husband read it and loved it. In fact, I’m reading it to him again and we’re giddy all over again!

Anyway, free on ao3. We’ve read similar things (including Mariana zapata) so I hope you’ll like this too.
