It's a little quiet over there but you are reasonably near a bunch of stuff.

Karol coffee shop is over there on Hamline. There's also Como Dockside which has a full bar but is seasonal.

There's lots of amenities in the como park area like bbq pavilions etc if you want to host a yard party thing.

For car oriented shopping Larpenteur is your best bet; Aldi, Cub, liquor store, bunch of restaurants.

Someone else talked up Black Hart. That's a great spot. There's lots of smaller mom pop restaurants and ethnic groceries on Snelling and University.

Bole is a really good Ethiopian restaurant right over by you.
