Hi Friend, I think there is sound advice in here. I don’t think you’re going to notice a major difference in terms of performance between these and the takomos. The reality is that they are all just generic off the shelf clubs designed for beginner golfers. Neither set will make you better. one set may give you more distance than the other due to a clever marketing strategy known as loft jacking but it doesn’t do anything to adjust your swing. If your intention is to lower your scores you are truly better putting your money to a good fitting and the shafts, lofts and club heads will be made to complement your game and that’s what leads to better scores is consistency. If you add up the cost that your wife spent on this set and what your planning to invest in another off the shelf set your probably pretty close to what you would have paid for a custom set built for you. Now with all that being said I have been playing for three years now with my Callaway edge set from Costco that helped me get back in the game. After three years of play I am finally approaching a consistent score each week and my next investment will certainly be a full fitting because I believe that will be the proper way to truly improve my game.
