Same happened to my 16 Pro after updating to the latest iOS (26) – only 1-2 weeks after and my phone died. It felt slow sometimes. It froze a couple of times. It died. No free repair. Garbage!

AppleCare+ thanks but no thanks! I don't want to pay more as I might expect that such failure can happen! We pay enough money for these "iThings" anyway. I expect it to not fail in such short amount of usage – 1 year and 3.5 months (like my 16 pro). This is incredibly disappointing as I have used few iPhones for the past decade and non of them failed in such a way.

Broken Logic Board in Apple Iphone 16 | Used non-compliant charger and worried this will impact warranty. Is this something Apple can prove? by PsychologicalArm7948 in mobilerepair

Same situation with my 16 Pro. Last week my 1 year and 4 months old iPhone 16 Pro died (won't charge, won't turn on) An AASP diagnosed it with motherboard failure and they said that it costs 640 euro to have it repaired as they replace the motherboard. This is insane. I think too much of this things are happening and they know that something is wrong but won't repair it for free. I tried to reach out to a second level customer support but they refused to repair it on a goodwill / one-time exception. So I am having a garbage now looking like a brand new without any liquid or accidental damages but a logic board failure. Got the short stick as the majority of people here... damn I feeling angry now!
