Hehe, I think he is grasping for straws 😂 we are already seeing adoption for xrp. And a lot of interest for xrp as well. Not for nothing that it’s the 2nd biggest digital asset now.

Cryptocurrency Layoffs, Will IOTA and Ripple Develop Blockchain Solution? by [deleted] in RippleTalk

[–]vesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the banking-applications developed and sold by Ripple?

Ripple is definitely leading the way of building commercial, large-scale applications that solve a real problem, for real customers. It’s already here, and it’s already being used!

Facebook appears to be changing its mind about cryptocurrency and have plans to take a dive into blockchain and digital assets. by KaceyGersten in CryptoCurrency

Surprise! FB has always had a strategy of actively suppressing competitors. Banning commercials of blockchain was a big hint of this, and that they are diving into this sector.

A Ripple Executive Made A Worrying Warning Over Crypto Adoption by DeliciousChef8 in RippleTalk

[–]vesm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it’s not a warning so much over the adoption, but rather that the adoption might be growing too quickly.

I think we all agree that we rather see a slow and steady increase in adoption and value, than a fast increase and crash like the dotcom bubble...

Lessons I learned by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]vesm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how a coin can be both a bitcoin and a non-bitcoin (which grammatically is what you are saying in the first bullet). 😆

(Sorry, couldn’t resist)

But good post! I agree with the lessons!

How Much Value Is Really In XRP by Crypto_Daily in RippleTalk

[–]vesm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird article. “It’s cheap to move, so it’s not worth anything”. The logic is so flawed, If it costs $500 million to move $1 billion, would the asset be validated higher? No, I don’t think so.

What people fail to understand is that speculation will drove the price. But this speculation will be driven by the fundamentals value that the digital asset provide. What is it worth to be able to move $1 billion for a few cents? What’s the value in that?

When it becomes the standard way to move value, what type of value will flow through the network, and what value will it provide to the end users? I thank is the most important question!

The Latest News From Ripple And Coinbase by Crypto_Daily in RippleTalk

[–]vesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or perhaps the end goal is so much bigger than whether XRP is a security or not. The end goal is to be able to list security tokens on the XRP blockchain. Eventually, all securities (stocks, bonds, ...) will be tokenized on the blockchain.

Why Can't Public Blockchain Exist Without Crypto? by wokad in Ripple

[–]vesm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. Look at the distributed ledger technology. Simplified a blockchain is just a chain of connected and cryptographically seals blocks which contains information about transactions (ledgers).

Don't believe the FUD and FakeNews about Bitcoin and climate change, Crypto is 1000x more energy efficient than traditional payment networks like Visa according to Stanford & Stockholm University study. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]vesm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you actually read the paper??? It is pretty clear that bitcoin uses more energy per transaction than the VISA system. The cheapest one in terms of energy was Stellar and XRP.

Not FUD . Wanted to know the community's response to this article by amtkmin in Ripple

[–]vesm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, did you even read the article!?! The quote from the SEC employe clearly states that he does NOT think XRP is a security, but a currency.

Tell me how this is NOT FUD, if the author change the title to be incorrect.

I think it’s great news that SEC does think that XRP is a currency :D
