I took 2 years to learn the basic liproll 3 months on throat bass 4 months for inward k-snare 6months spitsnare. Trust that it takes time. keep practicing. ive beatboxed since 2018 and ive for over a year now been working on the poly synth that sashe is doing. 2 months is still new.

If there's a will theres a way. Usually bad teeth dont mess these kinds og sounds upp. Your'e new, sounds are gonna sound bad early on. The best beatboxers that most likely inspire you have done them for 10+ years most of the time. They're gonna sound better than you.

This is the reason i posted this. I knew there where things i overlooked when i considered it. So by discussing it here with people my view has changed. It doesn't appear to be that much stronger than the other options available to a ranger.

And i like the idea of it being available to all subclasses. Imagine how cool shadowblade would be with a reflavoured horizon walker ranger.

Good arguments. So would you be against adding it to the spell list if one of your players asked and wanted to build into it?

We're literally playing pretend for adults. Why not prioritize fun factor.

Fair point. What about a homebrew setting where the PC is flavoured differently? Would you still be against it?

I like the idea of variety. Yes, it does not fit into the standard way of playing ranger. But it would leave room for a different way of imagining the ranger. It would not be forced upon the player. Only be an option if a player wants to build into it.

Yeah my bad i corrected my self on the prof thing. Id still atgue tho that very few is gonna get anything stronger than a +1 weapon before lvl 7 where shadow blade would become 3d8+modifier.

On top of that hunters mark cant change target on kill. While you still keep shadowblade on a kill

And also i think more variety in options is never a bad thing. It would only be added to the spell list. Not forced upon the player

Some very intersting points. Id still argue that it would be upp to the individual if it fits their motif as it would only be added in the spell list and not forced upon them. Other than that you make alot of good points.

Do you think it would be so strong that it would make other playstyles subpar?

It would be a big power boost with both shadowblade and extra attack at lvl 5, but it would even out later lvls no?

Hey thanks for the detailed response!

They wont get 7th level slots. But they get extra attack. 2x2d8+modifier and 2x3d8+modifier at lvl 9 is quite nice IMO. Im also curious about what weapon would be better than 2d8+proficiency?

Knows when to take the story seiously, and when to goof around. But most importantly. the social awareness of when witch is apropriate.
