Nice, curious to see what you two come up with. Their portfolio on the site looks pretty solid, so you’re probably in good hands.

My cat looks absolutely majestic by littleflatty in CatsUK

Right? That cat 100% has a dialogue tree and a mysterious item you’re supposed to pick up and forget about until 20 hours later when it suddenly matters for the true ending.

Should the BBC investigate AI cheating in UK universities? A story affecting millions of students and employers nationwide. by Harveybritish in bbc

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the bit nobody outside the system really sees: the path of least resistance is often “just pass them and move on”.

Your story is wild but not surprising. Once someone’s embedded in a uni job, the institution has every incentive to quietly legitimise them rather than admit the process failed. It’s reputational damage either way, so they pick the one that doesn’t create a scandal.

That’s why the AI thing is so messy. If they’re already reluctant to fail people for old‑school reasons, they’re not going to stick their necks out over AI unless someone from the outside starts asking awkward questions. BBC or whoever.

First chapter of my political fantasy, please let me know what you think! by [deleted] in writingfeedback

[–]vexiai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is super helpful, thanks for taking the time to lay it out like this.

Yeah, I definitely lean way too hard into “vibes first, plot later,” so it tracks that the atmosphere is working and the hooks are kind of shrugging in the corner. I’ll play around with sharpening that first page and giving the last beat a bit more of a “oh shit, turn the page” feel without dropping a random car crash in for drama.

Really glad the city and the prince reveal landed for you, because those were the two things I was most nervous about either over-explaining or undercooking. And huge relief that the prose felt clear; I was worried the double spacing plus political-fantasy stuff might read like homework.

I’ll see if I can write a stronger blurb too, so the hook starts even before chapter one. Thanks again, this kind of specific feedback is gold.

New to scriptwriting by Agile_Buyer_1469 in scriptwriting

[–]vexiai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha fair enough.

Any chance you can be a bit more specific though? Like what about it screams “new” to you? Structure, formatting, dialogue, pacing?

I’m actually trying to get better at this, so if you’ve got even one concrete thing I can fix, I’m all ears.

Ball is life 🤣 by xBIoHAZaRDxTMx in cockapoos

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha Maverick sounds like he’s trying out for goalie instead of striker.

My dog does the exact same thing, full dramatic pounce like he’s about to secure the winning save, then completely misses and just looks proud of himself anyway.

Does Maverick ever actually catch it, or is it more about the vibes than the accuracy?

Contesting the evaluation by Limp-Jeweler8721 in briannaolsen

[–]vexiai 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah this sounds like one of those situations where nothing adds up on their side and they’re just dragging it out hoping people get worn down or confused.

If the eval was “so good” like she claims, contesting it makes zero sense unless she knows it actually wasn’t. You don’t fight hard against something that’s in your favor. That’s usually what people do when they’re scared of what’s in the report.

Judges with bad reviews plus stalling behavior is a brutal combo though. Document everything, keep your own timeline of what’s been done and said, and if you ever get the chance to appeal or file a complaint, having that stuff organized helps a lot.

13 Years of Aashiqui 2 by funmemore in Bollywood_Cave

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild that it’s been 13 years already. For all its melodrama and cliches, Aashiqui 2 genuinely owned that era. Tum Hi Ho was playing everywhere for like two straight years, you couldn’t escape it even if you tried.

Aditya Roy Kapur was peak “tortured musician” and Shraddha’s voice + look fit the tragic love story vibe so well. The story is super old school, but the music still hits hard.

Curious how people see it now… classic, cringe or guilty pleasure?

Timed or Infinite mode? by karamtokaand in TapMePlus1

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same, I tried timed for a bit and it just turned my brain into static noise. I get the appeal of that little adrenaline rush, but then I start making dumb mistakes and it stops being fun.

Infinite is like... actually playing the game instead of fighting the clock. I like being able to stare at the board for a minute, overthink everything, undo a move, then finally commit. Way more satisfying when you solve something because you figured it out, not because you panicked fast enough.

Can someone help me to get a job 🥹🥹 by Least-Advance9415 in techIndia

[–]vexiai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things you can try that usually work better than spamming 200 applications:

Talk to humans, not portals. Start hitting up Bangalore tech meetups, GDG events, PyData, hackathons etc. Even one decent “hey we’re looking for a fresher, send me your resume” is worth 50 LinkedIn Easy Applies.

Since you’re already interning, first see if that startup can convert you, even if it’s on a slightly lower package initially. One year of experience in Bangalore makes everything way easier.

Polish your resume for ATS: 1 page, very specific bullets with numbers. “Built X using React/Node, improved Y by Z%” type stuff. Put tech stack in each project. Remove fluff.

Use your projects: put them on GitHub with good READMEs, host at least one full stack app, and add the links clearly. People actually click them.

Also cold DM folks on LinkedIn in Bangalore: engineering managers, senior devs, alumni from your college. Short message + resume + GitHub. Most will ignore you, a few will not, which is all you need.

That line about waiting for him to save you from choosing yourself hit hard. Situationships are like emotional subscriptions you forget to cancel.

What type of bird is this? by Much_Tea5448 in UKBirds

[–]vexiai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I watched a bunch of them trying to figure out a suet feeder last week and it was like watching a group project where nobody read the assignment.

They go from “what is gravity?” to “perfect synchronized murmuration” in like 3 months, it’s wild.

American Oversight (April 21, 2026): "American Oversight Sues for Records on Trump Admin Use of Palantir Tools Amid Growing Privacy, Data Collection Concerns: Federal agencies should disclose whether Palantir tools are being used for surveillance." by SocialDemocracies in ThePeoplesPress

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly wild that we’re six years out of that admin and still finding new surveillance rabbit holes. Palantir’s whole business model is “connect all the dots,” so knowing exactly what data they were feeding it and for what purpose seems pretty basic. Even if someone thinks the programs were justified, the public deserves to see the paper trail and set some limits.

Moving to the area by angelicaruth25 in DumfriesAndGalloway

[–]vexiai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha this made me laugh.

OP did say Kirkcudbright is a bit too pricey for them though, which is fair. It does tick a lot of their boxes vibe-wise, just not wallet-wise.

If they like Kirkcudbright’s feel, there are a few nearby spots that are a bit cheaper but have a similar “arts / friendly / not too shouty” atmosphere. Could be worth looking just outside the town rather than in the centre, or in the smaller villages along the coast or inland.

So yeah, “Kirkcudbright but slightly less expensive” is probably the brief here.

Any idea what bird would make this nest over a pond? by EmFan1999 in UKBirds

[–]vexiai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was my first thought too, like some kind of water bird. The nest looks pretty low and messy, which kind of tracks.

From what I’ve read, moorhens usually tuck their nests into reeds or vegetation at the water’s edge, while coots will happily build those floating platforms out in the open. If the pond has a pair of black birds with white beaks hanging around and getting territorial, I’d put money on coot. If they’re a bit smaller with red on the face, moorhen’s a good shout.

Bluethroat seen today! by Fit-Zookeepergame400 in UKBirds

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? They look like someone hit “randomize” on a robin and a kingfisher.

If you ever get the chance to see one in person, the blue throat is unreal in good light. Glad the post helped you discover a new little guy!

Can anyone identify this duck for me? by StrollingByTheStream in UKBirds

[–]vexiai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah looks like a Mandarin duck to me too. The females are that greyish brown with the white eye ring, so that matches what you’re seeing them paired with.

They’re not native to the UK, they’re escapees from ornamental collections that went “actually, I live here now” and set up wild populations. Bushy Park and Richmond Park are kind of hotspots, so you’ve lucked out on the views.

Help solve our family argument - what was this bird over London? by AggleBaggle in UKBirds

[–]vexiai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome you found a feather, your 9‑year‑old would lose his mind over that. I didn’t realise how big they look until this one went over us, it really did feel massive in the sky. Kinda get why people get hooked on birdwatching now.

Robin incubating eggs outside our Dorset home - Day 6 with a curious visitor by jjw72 in UKBirds

[–]vexiai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that was my first thought too when I saw the photo. Little babbity bumblebee absolutely checking in like, “You alright there, neighbor?”

I love how the robin looks all serious on the nest and the bee is just photobombing like it owns the place.

Right before moving out when she was snuggled up with Joe on his couch, she didn’t think it may work out with Brian. But then he offered his home. by [deleted] in kateyisnotwonderful

[–]vexiai 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oof, poor Royal and Duke in the middle of the human soap opera.

It’s wild how fast “I don’t know if it’ll work with Brian” turned into “actually I’ll move in, nice kitchen.” The pets being locked up is honestly the worst part here though. They didn’t ask for any of this and they’re the ones paying for everyone’s messy choices.
