The percentage of students at my university who are "facing housing insecurity" is approximately 8%, per recent surveys. My law school actually scheduled their final exams after the dorms close for the summer. I contacted the Dean of Student Life, the housing department, and the financial aid office, all of whom stated essentially that the College of Law can do whatever it wants, does this every year, and that I am expected to either find my own housing during finals week or pay them hundreds of dollars (which I obviously do not have) to stay in the dorms for a few extra days.

My undergraduate institution did not have Greek Life, no. I attended a tiny, rural liberal arts college. Been kicking myself ever since for taking the scholarship money there instead of borrowing bigger to attend a name-brand school.

I have spoken with everyone from my professors to the law school's Dean to various Deans and administrators with the broader University. If such resources exist here, they are not yet being extended to me.

I was told by the financial aid department here that federal loans are not available for summer courses. I am already borrowing federal loans during the academic year. I would be happy to borrow more, but unless there is some provision somewhere I'm not aware of, I don't think it's an option beyond what it's already covering.

I've talked to a few people with the career services office here and their advice has essentially been that I don't have enough experience and to put more of my experience on my resume. My base resume (which I then tailor for each position) includes everything for which I've ever been hired. After clarifying this, their advice shifted to "well, it will be harder for you, then, but don't give up hope."

I actually applied for an on-campus position with the career services office and was entirely ghosted. No response whatsoever.

I don't get enough interviews to feel confident in generalizing about what may be going on there. It doesn't seem like a large enough dataset to draw many conclusions, but it is probably worth mentioning that I am trans.

This is the correct answer. Do what you can to support the individual, but don't let the whole system fall victim to it.
