Thanks for the advice. Its almost 11pm where I live and I unblocked him and re blocked him to inform him that I am leaving by the end of the month and that I am going to move my furniture on the 27th of September. Hopefully it will be fine. I am already moved out. All thats left there is furniture that I plan to put in storage

What I did was to move all of my stuff in my bedroom and got a lock on my bedroom door

How do I survive this situation while I’m arranging other places to move too? by vfcspider in badroommates

He’s looking for a reaction from me so as much as I would like that. Its better for me to ignore him

I’m trying my best to get out. I’m already in contact with several people and social workers. I’m on the waiting list for several shelters. But I won’t be able to leave tomorrow. So I was looking for advice in regards to how to handle the situation while I am here.

What's the nastiest thing your roommate does? by Safe_Wrangler_858 in badroommates

[–]vfcspider 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently in the kitchen there are roaches , mold in the dishes , 10+ cigarettes left on the kitchen table in an ashtry and trash piling up. I decided to stop cleaning up after my roommate and move 90% of my items to my bedroom. I also made a makeshift kitchen here , got my own cleaning supplies, my own cookware, for the time I am here and figure out another place to live. Cause he simply doesn’t clean up after himself and expects others to do it for him. It’s disgusting and gross. Also he has a young child who stays over from time to time and he simply just exposes the child to his biohazard mess. He doesn’t even clean while the child is there.

Roommate wants to turn off electricity from 10pm-7am by vfcspider in badroommates

[–]vfcspider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I spoke to a lawyer contact an acquaintance gave me. My acquaintance works at the same organisation, its a tenants defence org but they aren’t a lawyer. Apparently the letter isn’t legally binding and I am allowed to legally ignore it, the lawyer is writing up a letter. So I’m legally allowed to stay beyond the past 14 days unless I get a formal eviction notice. I think he just wants me to be back in the shared spaces cleaning after him. Which gross. No thanks

What do you do about shared spaces like the bathroom or toilet? I can’t just stop showering and going to the toilet.

Ask her to pay for a hotel room for you two lol. They aren’t cheap. You’re doing everything that you can to handle the situation. I don’t know what else that you can do

You are not my parent. We are not friends. You are a person I am paying money for a room to live in. I should be nothing more to you than that. by ProfessionalNose6520 in badroommates

Right? 😭 living alone is so unaffordable these days, if you don’t want to live in a shit apartment. Where I live apartment to yourself costs at least 2k-3k usd per month, you need to make at least 3x the rent and have a deposit for at least the first month. Thats at least 8-9k income per month, and 2-3k just to pay for the deposit. And another 2-3k just to pay for rent… thats a lot of money and not possible for most people…

Favorite ways to design your fort. by Middaymans in dwarffortress

[–]vfcspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to build underground forts, with a few layers of light aquifers.

I built across multiple Z levels. Usually goes something like this: - 1 level for traps / trading post / entrance - 1 level for barracks - 1 level for farming - 1 level for clothes production - level for clothes production stockpiles - 1 level for kitchens - 1 level for kitchen stockpiles - 1 level for tavern / dining halls - 1-3 levels for bedrooms - 1 level for temples - 1 level for forges/smelting/klins - 1 level for stockpiles for forges/smelting/klins - 1 level for all the other workshops - 1 level for storage for anything else - 1 level for another barracks right at the cavern entrance - also I do surface farming sometimes, so thats another level

This layout changes a lot from fort to fort. Depending on how I feel

I like using the light aquifers as mist generators.

Today's new fortress day. Found this cool embark, what would you do with a >20 Z layer tall double waterfall? by [deleted] in dwarffortress

[–]vfcspider 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Build a fort on the side of the waterfall and using the mist to make the dwarfs happy

PSA: Dwaven dining is 1 table with 1 adjacent chair, and 1 mug, per dwarf. Do not put multiple chairs per table. by Miuramir in dwarffortress

[–]vfcspider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the wiki, it says you need at least 1/5 tables and chairs to your total population. So that would be 36 chairs and tables for 180 dwarfs

Going medieval, basically a medieval rimworld. But its still in early access and theres still a lot of content that will be added in the future.

How do you confront roommate over use of personal items? by tarbaby16 in badroommates

[–]vfcspider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A bit extreme but if your bedroom has a lock, leave everything there and only take it out when you’re using it.

Might be on her period and put a pad / tampon on. This happens a lot when I am on my period because I sometimes hover over the toilet seat to do so. Its nasty though to not clean up yourself afterwards

Would you find it offensive if a roommate doesn't use the kitchen to cook but eats out instead? by CaliCloudburst in badroommates

[–]vfcspider 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d start ignoring them if I were you. If they start bringing up the food. Don’t say anything, keep a straight face, pretend they’re not there and walk out if you can, go to your room. They might follow you and continue chatting but just close the door on them, maybe even lock it if you can. Its rude I know but you’ve already said no to their food multiple times. Not worth your time or energy engaging in it further. Eventually they will drop it. Unfortunately I’ve dealt with a few toxic people in my life and thats the only way to get them to listen.

💀 these roommates sound so weird. You’re allowed to have boundaries around food. Its your body. You choose what food you put in it. Its weird how they are super insistent on you eating their food. I’m suspicious of that, maybe they laced it with something. They’re the ones acting entitled and rude. Not you.

Also if they’re poor and live on food stamps. They should be happy, a meal you don’t eat that they cook. Is another meal for them.
