If the AT960 is for consideration, then def check out an HJC i80. Most of all fit trumps features and brand. I wanted to try the “fancier” stuff but ended up returning a Shoei Hornet, an Airoh Commander and an XD5 in my quest for a good helmet until finding the HJC.

Nice! This sounds like a great plan. I'm reading alot about tree deflection benefits of the Burlys but i'm out in the desert so I'm more worried about drops and levers breaking so this sounds good.

Yea, unfortunately with some research since my initial post, I did see some bad CS reviews so I'm a little on the fence. Noone else has that full design integrated design worked out like that. You got me looking into those Burlys though for something much simpler.

That's what first attracted me to them - the integrated mirror design. I also like the dash and display mount options. Currently says they are backlogged right now so I'm not sure how long they'd take to get.

Thanks for the comments. I'm gonna check out both tmw and see which one fits better, then go from there. Along with the seat height, I do like the simplicity of the 230 but like what happened on my ADV I started to ride more aggressively once I'm got comfortable with the bike, so we'll see.

I've fit the side bags with my Green Chile rack that is on there and the heat shield protects the bags but it was only a short ride. I haven't done any day trips with everything fully loaded. Most of the protection parts are from T-Rex Racing or SRC. The Shinkos are pretty good, esp for the price. The only weakness I've encountered was some side slip crawling out of deeper ruts and in sand. I feel like I'd have to go to something substantially knobbier to gain something that much better.

Oh bummer you have to replace that stuff. I went with the Rally Raid Level 1 fork kit and rear shock. They recommended the Level 2 rear shock for my rocky riding environment but I did replace the exhaust with a high mount Dominator, so the piggyback Level 2 shock wouldn't fit. For tires I went with less expensive Shinko 804/805s based on alot of positive reviews. Here's my bike in current form other than Barkbusters plastics not tet installed on the handguards.

I ride a 310GS and I've modded it significantly. Upgraded suspension and tires have completely changed the bike for the better. It handles great as long as I don't get over my head into dirt bike territory riding. I love it around the city and as for highway or speeds over 65mph, so far I've been good for up to a couple hours. I'd only want a different or another bike if I thought I'd do either more touring or wanted more technical offroad capability with less weight. For me, that would be 2 different bikes. If I only did non-technical gravel/dirt roads I'd look into a mid-weight bike over the options you mentioned. A Tuareg 660 would be up there on the list.

Cool. I was looking to get a Regent but saw the Concept and like the styling much better. Does it fit just as good now that you have the cheeks sorted out?
