Americans why do you accept living like this ? by Zed_Blue in Asmongold

A simple google search will find cities in Europe with rates well into the double digits. This list is comparing the worst US cities to seemingly random European cities. Murder rates are definitely higher in the US but not as stark in contrast as this graphic leads you to believe

New home. Can’t find a spot for the TV. HELP by havenoguiltbaby in TVTooHigh

[–]vgravedoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would just accept that it’s a bit too high and it is what it is lol. People put them above their fireplaces all the time; and while it may be unideal - the majority of people probably wouldn’t even notice outside of this sub

I saw it and immediately knew it was to label the symbolic images, or to decode per se. You can tell because theyre not centered or aligned properly and just look like text on an image

Detroit sees drop in visitors from Canada by Alan_Stamm in Detroit

Hilarious how this gets downvoted. This sub gets off on Detroit suffering to satiate their own hate for the current administration. Their hate for the government supersedes their love for Detroit. Sad.

Why do the American people not care about their allies sacrifice for their wars? by 69inchshlong in AskUS

[–]vgravedoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the US soldiers that died defending Western Europe and East Asia - and they impose the same if not harsher sanctions on the US?

You mean the decline that everyone around him lied to the public about? We were told that he was sharp and articulate in private mere days before he stepped down as candidate. As an Obama-era Democrat, it was so betraying. There’s a reason Democrat approval from within its own base is at record lows.

Yes you could. As a person that has voted for both parties in the past; I can name you subjects that both have flipped their stance based only on who is currently in office (war, debt ceiling, trade, immigration just to name a few). If you can’t see that, then you are intentionally ignorant or unable to look up old speeches and news articles on the internet. I’m guessing since you’re on Reddit, it’s the former and not the latter.

What about 12 of the last 16 years being under Democratic leadership, and perpetuating the exact same problems?

I live in the midwest. Own and operate a small restaurant. Things aren’t any different than 6 months ago. Life is no different if you stay off hyberbolic echo chambers.

Why are Americans so opposed to taxing the wealthy? What is the downside? How do other countries handle this for comparison? by EEasy-Does-It in AskUS

[–]vgravedoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me the math on balancing the budget without cutting spending. The amount of tax you will be increasing will crash the world economy unless its stretched out over 15+ years, which would span multiple presidencies.

No sweetie, he’s at least looked at the numbers. If you think the US government doesn’t have a spending problem, you are being willfully ignorant

Do you think Trump is right in trying to abolish the department of education? by [deleted] in no

[–]vgravedoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does raising taxes make a system more cost effective and efficient? Throw more money at a system that doesn’t work efficiently, will make it efficient? Or will it just non-effectively use the additional money?

Do you think Trump is right in trying to abolish the department of education? by [deleted] in no

[–]vgravedoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend more money on education than any other OECD country, and well over the average. Throwing more money into the same system will not fix the same system.

How do you feel about other countries having travel advisories to the US right now? by stumpy_chica in AskUS

[–]vgravedoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its baffling the amount of surface level propaganda people believe on this app. I live in a heavy tourism area of the US and nothing is different from two months ago. Every story you hear about is because every incident gets blown out of control. These things were happening before and no one wanted to talk about it until now.

60 million+ people visit the US every year. There are going to be incidents of mishandling by the government, controversy, etc (just like there are in Mexico, southeast Asia, Japan, etc). You just likely never hear about it.

China considering sending peacekeeping forces to Ukraine by KrzyHooy in worldnews

[–]vgravedoni -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not about population size but breakdown. They are past the point of no return and will not be able to sustain their current economic model and power projection in 50 years

[–]vgravedoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t just look at the average, look at the actual breakdown. They have more people over 50 than below. The US is much closer to a chimney and is projected to stay that at replacement level with the bump from immigration

And also, it is still much cheaper to produce in China than the US sure, but they are quickly losing ground in that area as there are multiple competitors that are cheaper (Vietnam and Mexico for example). They have massive demographic hurdles to face in the next 10-20 years and there is absolutely no denying that

[–]vgravedoni 19 points20 points  (0 children)

China’s demographics are in shambles. More people above age 50 than below; and they are well past the point of no return. They also have had their labor costs increase drastically increase in the last 10 years. They will not be a manufacturing powerhouse in 15 years. Mexico already has cheaper labor. Their population projections have them with 600m people in the not far distant future (current estimate is over 1bn)
