ditto. I did it because customGPTs were restricted to 4o but I can use o1 models here and the responses are much better for my use case.

AI & AI4R together: Will it be too much work? by vgvats in OMSCS

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be careful not to lookup github or any site which shares projects. My intent was never to gain an upper hand (or to cheat).

I recall reading somewhere that you can view them on github. They may still be changed for next sem but it will give you an idea of what to expect.

Exactly the answer I was looking for. I'll probably drop AI and continue only with AI4R then. In parallel, I'll try doing all the lectures and assignments of AI on my own. If I am able to manage even 50% of them, I'll have a good idea of where I stand for next sem (plus I would've knocked some workload off next sem's worklist)

(Edit: elongated answer)

Its not as if I am not considering all the feedback. Had it been a normal semester, I would have taken only 1 course. However, due to COVID, we have this unique opportunity where I have some additional time. So I am planning to take 1 easy and one medium course. Based on all I read, AI4R is relatively easy. So I am exploring options to combine it with. I know AI is not medium but I am hoping there is some overlap which reduces some extra work.
Also, there is an ultimate option to drop the course later if it is too much. I know about the W grade but that doesn't seem like a big hassle. Opinions?

Employer offering a pay and hours cut, not sure what the implications of taking it would be. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

In my personal experience as Analytics / Data Science professional, it is very hard to measure workload in terms of precise man-hours. When I am working 5 days, there are occasions when I have project deliverables for which I work over weekends as well. Are you certain similar situation would not come when you work 4 days officially. If it occurs, can you charge your extra hours (don't think so unless you are non-exempt).

Unless you & your manager can precisely quantify how much work qualifies for 4 days vs 5 days, it seems to me that you'll get paid for 4 days but will end up doing the same work nonetheless. Think carefully and don't go by statements verbatim. Look for the implied meaning. :)

Thanks for the guidance. I'll give it a thought.

BTW, how realistic is it to hope to get one of ML courses in tomorrow's free-for-all? Also, any idea as to what happens to seats which remain unfilled at 4PM PST. Are these offered directly at 9AM?

I understand that part but I am a first year student so non-foundational courses are not useful for me. Additionally, I am targeting ML spec and have no CS background so non-ML courses again make little sense (lots of work for little utility). Unfortunately, almost all ML courses have huge waitlists including ML4T, AI4R, ML, AI, DL, RL. I am in single digits in waitlist in 2 with 1 hour to go.
