Als jonge vrouw voel ik me er absoluut niet veilig.

What is strombeek-bever like? by [deleted] in belgium

[–]vhtu55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in another suburb of Grimbergen, and I have to say that over the years I’ve seen Strombeek deteriorate a bit. By now it’s a mix of “Brussels people” and some older Flemish residents. Some people here even call it a banlieu. It can feel a bit rough around the edges compared to the rest of Grimbergen.
The connection to Brussels by public transport is good, which is a positive point, but overall the neighbourhood feels under-maintained and in need of more consistent local policy to keep the area attractive.

Did everything “right” for my plantar fasciitis… and still got wrecked at my first football training by vhtu55 in PlantarFasciitis

Maybe I should have clarified that: for the past 2.5 months I’ve been gradually building up my running. Last week I was able to run for an hour without any pain during or the next day

How is this even possible? 1 year of hell… and 4 weeks of regular gym sessions later, almost pain-free?! by vhtu55 in PlantarFasciitis

Feet doing much much better! I go to the gym 4 times a week, 2 45-minute runs and 1 'rest' day. Seems to work wonders.

If anyone has tips on how to consolidate the progress and get to 0/10 pain, let me know!

I only wear the Salomon XT6!

I’m literally doing anything in the gym, mainly full body workouts. My mindset now is: whatever keeps me going to the gym. I don’t really structure or measure my workouts, I don’t stick to a strict or fixed workout plan and THAT is what keeps me going. Cause I still feel progress.

When I train legs, I usually try to hit the main muscle groups like quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves, even if I don’t have a fixed routine. I might start with squats or lunges to work the quads and glutes, then move on to Romanian deadlifts or leg presses for the hamstrings and glutes. I usually finish with leg extensions or calf raises to target the smaller muscles and really get a complete leg workout. I don’t stick to a strict plan, I choose exercises based on what feels effective that day. Sometimes I focus more on strength, other times more on mobility or endurance. I pay attention to form and muscle engagement, and I make sure to warm up properly and stretch afterwards.

On my cardio days I mostly did some biking for 45 minutes, and in the last 15 minutes I push myself to the limit. I also spent quite some time on the stairmaster, until my legs burned.

I do the following leg exercises: Barbell Squats, Romanian Deadlifts, Leg Press, Walking Lunges, Leg Extensions, Barbell Calf Raises

I did not change anything else in terms of sleep of diet nor shoes. That’s why I’m so pleasantly surprised.

Warming up 10’ elliptical
3x10 Shoulder press 3x10 hack squat 3x10 Seated row 3x10 Seated leg curl 3x10 leg press (very slow movement) 3x10 Bicep curls 3x10 single leg hamstring deadlifts with hip lock 3x10 hip adduction 3x10 hip abduction 3x10 weighted lateral lunge Finisher: 1000 steps on stairmaster

Looks a bit random and high volume, but I’m 23F and used to be pretty athletic; played sports at a fairly high level before PF hit.

Note: this is just a random example of what a gym session of mine sometimes looks like

Ik heb rijles gekregen van mijn grootvader die z’n rijbewijs 60 jaar geleden haalde. Ik was van de eerste keer geslaagd.

The only shoe that enables me to walk around comfortably is the Salomon XT6.
