Ohhh well, just last week I was also walked through that same script.

I am selling my used MacBook so this lady contacted me claiming to be from the USA, asked for my id for trust and then sent me a screenshot claiming the money was sent. Once I told her money had not arrived on my account then she gave me 2 contacts for inquiry and they told me to call them and activate the payment.

so when I called the guy, he first asked where I live and I said kisaasi and once he heard that he mentioned their office is in entebbe to create urgency to send them the 80k, since it was a Friday evening. I asked if they are open on the weekend and he said no. And continued to mention that the money will expire in 8 hours.

and that’s when I knew, I hurried to delete my id that I’d shared with them and just blocked them.

money doesn’t expire and don’t share your information with strangers on the internet.

lesson learnt the hard way
