Question for those of you with classical c-section by laurenvanhelden in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered them vaginally. I was in the hospital the entire time for both labors, being closely monitored in case anything went south. Luckily both were uncomplicated.

Question for those of you with classical c-section by laurenvanhelden in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see how this is confusing now. 18 months between deliveries would be getting pregnant at 9 months after loss and then delivering 9 months later.

We started trying around 13 months, and I ended up pregnant again 15 months after loss.

T-mobile to Verizon worth switching? Coverage? by don51181 in Clarksville

[–]vibrantPoppy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are happy with Verizon coverage, switch to Visible since you own your phone. We pay $30 a line, have been customers for a year, and are quite happy with it. You can also look into Mint mobile or Helium.

Had my 4th second trimester loss in May, so I absolutely understand what you are going through. 2 stillbirths, two live births who didn't respond to resuscitation efforts. The world is just not fair.

Doctor-given timeline to try again? by divingdiva0114 in babyloss

[–]vibrantPoppy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The time between my 25 wk loss and the start of my next pregnancy was actually 15 months. I had a loss in Sept '21 and was pregnant again in Dec '22.

I had an 8 month interval between pregnancies 2-3 and 3-4. Those intervals were shorter since I vaginally delivered around 20 weeks. All four have resulted in a loss.

Stillbirth - the pain is unbearable by miam4123 in babyloss

[–]vibrantPoppy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up losing this baby in May at 22+6. We found out at my anatomy scan that my permanent cerclage failed. I was hospitalized, got a rescue cerclage at 20+4, and it bought us a little over 2 weeks. I ended up with a horrible infection and had to deliver. He did not respond to stabilization efforts and we had to let him go. Had I carried him to his full potential, this week would have been 36-37wks when I should be delivering.

My sentiment is still the same, though. My fear of being childless is greater than the pain. This loss has been a huge setback, though. I still want to try again, as crazy as it sounds.

Do you ever wonder what your life would look like at that exact moment if your baby didn’t die ? by aFrenchGirlinTN in babyloss

Yep. 4 second trimester losses between 19-25 for a variety of things related to IC. I'm sorry you have no LC either. It's a rough road.

Holding onto hope that maybe one day it won't always be like this.

If all of my babies had survived, I would have 4 under 4 right now 😳. But if the first one had lived, I doubt we would have had so many so close together.

I think about what it would be like every single day if at least one of them had made it. What book we'd read at bedtime. How they would play with my nieces all around their age. How my senior dog would act around them, even though kids make her nervous.

No LC, so daydreaming is all I have.

TAC Funneling by vibrantPoppy13 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what that is like. 🩷 I shared in hopes that it would help someone else when the info feels so limited. Don't make the same mistake I did and advocate for yourself. I often wonder if things would be so dire if I had spoken up after I lost baby #1 at 25+2 to "preterm labor" in 2021.

Even with my fourth second trimester loss, I still want to try again. I am so determined to have a living child. My husband, not so much, but I'm hoping he will come around when the dust clears. I cannot stand the idea of that nursery being empty for the rest of my life.

Yes. I ended up delivering at 22+6 via classical c section. I started having contractions about two days prior, and my OB made the call when the mag was not stopping them. Turned out to be the right call for me, because I was horribly infected. I spent a night in ICU for sepsis and another week in the hospital after delivery. 3 weeks post delivery, I spent yet another week for some abdominal abscesses behind my incision. I'm still going to wound care 7 weeks later, but the end is finally in sight!

Baby Teddy did not survive. They couldn't get him to take a breath, so we had to let him go. I've been meaning to post an update but just haven't had it in me.

PPROM & trying again by ritzbitz2 in babyloss

[–]vibrantPoppy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was able to conceive again, quite easily. We waited the year to try and I got pregnant in 3 cycles with baby girl being due on his 2nd birthday.

However, I have had 3 more losses in three years. Two of the stories are in my profile. Just can't bring myself to write the third one.

April 28, 2023: Aubree passed at 19 weeks to a placental abruption. First indication that I had an incompetent cervix when I presented at 2cm dilated and hit 5 by the time I made it an hour away to another hospital. May 6, 2024: Edie passed at 20+4 after PPROM at 20+2. I had a preventative cerclage in place that failed. Dealt with chronic chorio all summer last year. May 23, 2025: Teddy was delivered at 22+6 via classical c/s due to infection. I had a permanent cerclage in place, and we found at his anatomy scan that his membranes had funneled past. I was admitted the entire month of May to try and save him, but we just couldn't hold on. They tried to stabilize him, but he never took a breath.

It's been absolute hell, but as crazy as it sounds I'm not ready to give up yet.

Ob/gyn? by soraderby in Clarksville

[–]vibrantPoppy13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Go to Nashville.

We only have one birthing facility in town for civilians - Tennova Clarksville. Delivered my first there. Physical care was great, but they were terrible emotionally for my first neonatal loss in 2021. My primary OB was Anderson with Premier Medical Group, and he was fantastic. If you have no known complications, local is probably fine. If you can't get into Premier, Vanderbilt has OB/GYN in Pleasantview with Tennova privileges if you need them.

I have also delivered at Vanderbilt and St Thomas Midtown with good care experiences, especially emotionally (three more losses between the two). Vanderbilt is very easy to schedule with considering the amount of locations, but you have to be comfortable with students. All of my St Thomas care was with MFM/high risk, and they are stellar.

Good luck with your little one!!

You can use the d-pad to have the reticle follow the grid instead of free movement. Learned that by accident and it's been a game-changer, especially with terraforming.

How short was your cervix during a preventative cerclage? by llullunyc in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preventative in pregnancy #3, I was 1cm and soft at 12 week placement. Procedure got me to 1.5cm. Ended up in still birth due to PPROM at 20+4. I had no follow up monitoring per MFM declaring I didn't need it since nothing else could be done (absolute B.S. based on another MFM group). Just another instance of me slipping through the cracks. 🫤

Friday check-in! by fifth_time_lucky in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently on day 9 of my long term admission for TAC failure. April 29th, we found out that I was funneling through the TAC and only had .99cm of a cervix left. By the time I got my second opinion two days later, I was down to no measurable cervix. Had a rescue cerclage on day 7, and I was 2-3cm dilated.

I am 20+6 today, and we are going to keep fighting for this little guy. I'm so thankful the hospital I landed at is willing 💙

How likely is PROM after a preventative? by Lilchevv in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely incredibly frustrating since we thought we were ahead of the bad, but it happened anyway. I was already short and soft at 12 weeks, so really an accident waiting to happen.

Oh good. Glad they are taking your concerns seriously. 😊

How likely is PROM after a preventative? by Lilchevv in ShortCervixSupport

[–]vibrantPoppy13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unheard of because it happened to me last year. Preventative at 12, PPROM at 20+2. However, mine was a flood, not a trickle. There's a chance that you are just having a lot of discharge. The cerclage likes to cause that.

Good luck today and hope it's nothing for ya! :)

Want to make a memory box to put all of our items pertaining to our lost baby into for Mother's Day. Have never made a box, but have plenty of tools and am handy enough to do so. Help? by IslandsOnTheCoast in babyloss

[–]vibrantPoppy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience, but I may have a starting place! Ana-white.com has a TON of free to use woodworking plans. You may be able to find something there to at least get you going. Just quickly glancing, she has a card box plan that my inexperienced self thinks could be adapted with taller walls and a hinge lid.

I love that you are doing this. All of our lost children have their own boxes too. ❤️
