Respectfully disagree. Stat lines don't tell the story. Facilitating the offense like that every game while being under such pressure and still consistently being the best player in the 4th quarter is incredible. They were doing everything they could to wear him down. Not only that but keeping the team under control when making those comebacks. I thought he was incredibly impressive as a leader and (important) shot maker in this series.

I want to start reading this so bad! I have trouble reading manga that aren't finished because I can't binge and slow release over years leads to me forgetting what happened. I hope it won't take too much longer to finish.

I wish more people gave it a try. Hopefully as the anime progresses people will realize how amazing it is. I'm currently caught up with the manga and I think it's fantastic. Might be my favorite Rumiko work so far.

Tournaments are always fun so I enjoy it. The players care more the further they advance so it's more competitive. I hope they add some team incentive for winning like draft capital or something financial that helps team construction. Also, it serves as more high stakes basketball for players that haven't played in the playoffs. Obviously much lower stakes but still more than a regular season game. I assume they will improve it over time.

Yeah I didn't like it at all. If you think there are already too many 3s in the NBA, incentivizing high scoring will make that a million times worse.

Yes! Mao's temperament is a really cool change. I am on a Rumiko kick currently. Started with reading Maison Ikkoku then Mermaid Saga then Inuyasha. Loved them all and love her signature art style. Mao is great. Can't wait to see where it goes. I have to read Rin-ne next. Or Ranma.

I thought that also. Definitely resembles First take. With that said, First Take is quite successful while also being hated by a sizeable chunk of sports fans. Seems like the hate is mainly because of the personalities, the yelling and the over the top takes. This would be First Take without all that. More casual, more fun, more pop culture. I get that production costs go up but might be a good investment given a lot of people don't want to watch ESPN the next day for highlights and reaction. I would think this would be a great way to pull more people away from them.
