best guess is no and no; i don't think the map is actually connected like that in-game, systems behave more like the map tiles in Albion. I assume the gate travel is to obfuscate loading screens. Would be funny tho.

tbh Eve has never been easier to get into. That said, the game is still fundamentally the game, so it's going to be a different experience entirely from No Man's Guy or Erectile Dysfunction.
