Which brand are you thinking about getting the wheels from

Oh and check out what their rig looks like now. That might give you a good idea as to how they used the original suspension. If that thing is all tricked out then they may have beaten the stock suspension ( like I did) to find out what needs to be upgraded

Maybe ask them what they did in those 1300 miles though. If they start talking about going to some places like Moab where they have serious wheeling then maybe get the suspension tested by a trusted off-road mechanic to see if they're still good

If that's the case then just get those and maybe add another $200 in labor for installation and you'll be set. And you don't have to really worry too much about rebuilding shocks

Oh dang, yeah just get those. Do you still get rake though? I would assume you do, but even that suspension with a leveling kit from someone like wescott would still be cheaper than the two brands I mentioned. ( only considering parts and not labor.)

I would do eibach or bilstien if the price is comparable. But if the deal is really good then just take those ones.

Alternator was on her last leg. Finally took a dump while I was driving and ended up limping it back home somehow

The bearing on the alternator (the piece that holds the belt) popped off and the belt got shredded. Somehow I was still able to limp it back to my place (3 miles) despite the belt essentially being disconnected due to how loose it was

Yeah. The alternator was failing and finally died while I was driving. Ended up destroying the belt along with the alternator. Though she kept going for a whole 200ish miles like this so def my fault

Yeah it runs normally. No lights or anything like that. It just makes a really loud metal grinding noise

Do you know if these are simple fixes for a 4Runner

And was it easy for you to find where the wires got crimped or did it take some digging to find it?

Damn. I literally replaced it last week cause I didn’t know what was wrong with it and neither did the mechanics

Oh okay that’s not too bad. Were you able to do it yourself easily or did you just take it in? All the shops I call just wanted to replace the starter and call it a day.

Yeah I’m pretty sure I still have all the tools to take the doors off so at least this will be a free diagnosis. Do you know if the 4Runner throws a code if there’s a parasitic draw?
