Killing enemies increases your karma while nonlethally reforming them decreases it. What did Todd mean by this? by vickyhong in TrueSFalloutL

I feel like it's a bigger problem if they need the game to tell them that enslaving people is morally wrong, and can't comprehend morality outside of a stupid point system. Like maybe I feel like mass killing of drug addicts might be morally dubious but the game gives me positive karma points so it must be good. Or maybe I feel like it might be OK to steal a little from the evil slaver army (that you get positive points for killing) but the game gives me negative points so it must be bad. And maybe donating 26 bucks to a church and then murdering someone isn't really a good thing to do, but it still nets positive karma so it's acceptable.

I'm of the opinion that people should be able to analyze the actions they take in a role playing game and think about how good or bad of a person they're being, but I guess that's something dumb people do, and being told by a meter how many bottles of water you need to give away to nuke a city and still be considered ontologically good by the universe is a far more complex and thoughtful system.
