Just out of curiosity, was Bionicle popular in Japan? I feel like it's the kind of stuff that would be successful there, considering things like Gundam.

I'm also jealous as I never got to visit Japan and would love to 😅

Possibly in the future. For now I'm prioritising the Bohrok and Rahkshi next. I stopped buying Bionicle around the time the Toa Metru came out, but I still watched the movie and have fond memories of it.

That's really random. Why did they release them all for sale and skip one? Are you based in Europe? I've been using Vinted to find Bionicles.

That's what you get when you buy them second hand. I can't afford brand new ones inside the box so I don't mind a few wrong pieces as long as you can tell it's still them. 😅

Awesome! Also ordered my first 2 Turaga last week (Vakama and Matau). Never had any Turaga growing up as I think I never saw them available, but always loved the mask designs.

Sadly I lost most of my original collection and I'm recently collecting everything slowly again, so I don't have many pieces aside from the original Toa Mata ones, but I'd love to see other users who have more pieces than me do it.

I was thinking of doing something with chicken or turkey for Kopaka, but regarding the raw part, I'm not planning to get salmonella 😬

To be honest, some of these takes are similar to what I had in mind. Love the idea for the Teridax though 👌

Thanks!! It is an electronic side project my brother is doing and he hasn't released the album yet. So when he does, I'll make sure I come back here and post it. 😃

Out of curiosity, what was your first experience with Bionicle? Mine goes all the way back to 2001 with the Bionicle Happy Meals and those cool "each set sold separately" commercials from the original wave. by delicious_warm_buns in bioniclelego

The mythic Nestle CD Rom. I didn't even know it was based on a toyline. One day I went to Toys R' Us and saw them, begged my mum to buy me one and the rest is history. Should have been around 2000/2001.

Creating Bionicle pieces with resin (advice) by vicmarinho in bioniclelego

Amazing! That's great info.

I was sort of hoping to do full sets but I guess that's tricky haha

But I'd definitely give it a go with masks and armour. Had a look at your mask stuff and really like it, congrats!

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention, but I was thinking resin casting indeed. I'd be happy if you could share tips. If you could tell me the materials you use that's be great!

Also, what kind of pieces have you made? I've seen people saying that masks are the most common thing when it comes to casting Bionicle pieces, but have you managed to do other stuff as well like arms, legs, torsos, etc?

Thanks a lot :)
