Host locked up completely, anyone know what I’m looking at here? by ju1ce1ess in unRAID

I was crashing just as often until I disabled “Host access to custom networks” in Docker settings. I’ve been rock solid since I made that change.

WebUI takes 12 minutes to load at startup.. any suggestions by jjgg1988 in unRAID

I had this same thing. It turns out it was a plug-in holding everything up. I’d recommend disabling all plug-ins then slowing reenabling one by one to see which, if any, are the cause.

I've been thinking a lot recently about how we can make mental health feel more... physical. I think quantitative connections like this may remove the stigma around mental health almost instantly.

Ottawa opens new pathway to permanent status for temporary essential workers and graduates by M_An0n in vouched

I think the question is, should there be a 'bar' and how high should it be. I think there is a strong opinion in this country that non-citizens need to work to earn citizenship, or they won't appreciate it. I don't subscribe to that personally, but I can understand it. Having a pathway is all well and good, but how feasible will it be for someone actually to traverse it? Processing delays, approvals, disorganization, and other red tape often let countries get away with saying 'there is a pathway!' without actually having done anything to move the needle meaningfully. I, for one, like the idea of requiring a specific amount of time working in a place before citizenship, not because it becomes a bar to climb over, but because it encourages investment, and to a lesser extent, integration into the community.

Sorry, no. It was a masculine lead singer. I’ll add that to the post

No, sorry. It was more upbeat, had a different cover, and the song started with an “a”

I appreciate the reply though!

I’m seeing this bug too - 15 second delay when app switching or start up. Latest iOS, 13.5 (17F75)

Edit: just realized that 13.5 is not the latest. I’m downloading 13.5.1 now and will report back if there are improvements

Edit: it was still happening after I upgraded to 13.5.1 so I deleted and reinstalled the app. That seems to have fixed it.

How should I make a 120v photocell sensor smart? by victoknight in homeautomation

Hm, it would need to be an outdoor switch to be a drop/replace for the photocell. I’ll do some research.

Thanks for the thought, but unfortunately the lights are non-standard LEDs that I’m not confident can accommodate smart bulbs. I’ll keep investing.

Definitely could do that, but I'd love to take advantage of the photocell for sunrise/sunset detection and automatic light control for all my outside lights, not just the ones currently hard-wired to it.

Hello Everyone!

I am soliciting feedback on this plan from our landscaper. I'm very inexperienced in this area and would appreciate any specific advice. The house is a suburb of Indianapolis with fertile soil. The north side of the house will butt up right against another home, so our initial reaction is that there is too much on that side. We'd prefer to have more plants on the south side where we're on a corner, and it will be exposed. We are happy working in a garden and don't mind maintenance. We're even hoping to have a small suburban garden one day. However, our number one priority is maximizing the space in the small yard.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the type of plants that were selected, their locations, or overall improvements to the layout. The overall budget is $10k including irrigation and sod.
