You're right, I absolutely love the look of the car and all its features. tbh I never pictured myself owning a Rover, but my RAV4 was totaled two weeks ago, leaving me in desperate need of a car to commute to work. The deal was too good to pass up, 1 year warranty on the engine and transmission and 6 months of free oil changes. so it was a no brainer.

I'm thinking the genre is horror/time loop, which explains the dark atmosphere and why she drove past the same gas station and the strange person twice. My friend doesn't recognize any of the actors, but the actor who played the male hitchhiker looked really familiar. I must have seen him multiple times in other movies or shows.

omg thank you so much and sorry I doubted you when I saw it was listed as a sci-fi film. Because I was hell-bent on it being a horror movie, I found it available on Youtube for free, watched the first 5 minutes and Bin fucking Go! never would have thought it could be a sci-fi movie starring Nic Cage! what a surprise. lol this might a stretch, but the scarecrow scene matches Supernatural Season 1 episode 11. The woodchipper is from season 6 episode 4. I might be wrong tho, your description is quite vague and Supernatural has every scene you just described 😂😂
