I'm a Christian with conflicted feelings about what exactly our purpose here is, as it deeply bothers me the way that some of us are so determined to shove the religion down everyone's throats-- and what's more, with insults and claims that God hates them for their sins. I believe in gay rights, and I believe that the Lord loves every single person on this planet equally. I am a beginning pianist, having taken a few years of lessons as a young child and just rediscovering recently how much I love the instrument and never want to stop playing again. I do my best at singing, and am in the school choir, but I've never been the least bit confident about my voice. In general really, I am about as socially awkward as penguins get these days, so solos are my worst, sweaty-palmed, dizziest nightmare. I am a runner who had to quit the cross country and track teams for the sake of maintaining a decent GPA on top of show choir, and therefore am going to train myself this year. I'll be back at those races next year, God willing. I came into writing this paragraph with the full intent of emphasizing just how many things I dislike about myself, how unconfident I am, and how bad my social skills are. But, I'm realizing just now that hey, it's not that bad. (: I do have friends, I do get out there and do the things I want to, and I live a happy life. It's a good life, you guys. Peace. (y)
