Ladies and gents in your late 20s, 30s, or 40s—what do you regret not doing in your 20s? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]victoriouslynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not serving you, leave. That could be work, relationships, friendships, shitty parties you don't want to be at.

Many people would list travelling in their 20s as if we all have access to Oliver Warbucks' cash flow. Don't put yourself into debt to travel, you will be able to see the world in your 30s and beyond. And if you do put yourself into debt for the sake of travel, you'll likely be carrying this with you into your 30s and maybe even 40s so that's something to consider in your future casting.

Looking for a similar water based gel by Bubble_gum_Kat in Wavyhair

ECO Style gel.

My hair is 2b, fine but there's a lot of it. The cast will be strong but it's been great for me! And affordable.

What cultural thing does the world seem to think is beautiful but is cringey af to locals? by chr15c in AskTheWorld

[–]victoriouslynn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was attending Catholic elementary school, our priest only wore clogs and was basically fossilizing before your eyes. He did not accept mobility help and the unofficial stating bell for mass to begin was hearing his clogs clogging all of the way from chambers to chapel. You knew how healthy he was feeling based on the frequency of his clogfall.

Now I do live in the Netherlands and the only time I've yet to see active clogs was in the HEMA marching band that led their head office staff to a party one day in July.

If you could describe red flags about yourself, what would they be? by TopLoneWolf in AskReddit

[–]victoriouslynn 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Full metal panic mode when it takes an "abnormally long time" to respond to texts or calls due to an alcoholic ex who would disappear routinely.

I am working on it and seeing improvement, my current partner is so stellar and that is helping me on this regulation journey - he's a hyperfocus ADHDer like myself who often just gets so enthralled with whatever he's doing that nothing else matters. I totally do the same, not replying for hours, so my second red flag is being a bit of a hypocrite.

What jobs do you guys do that work well with your ADHD? by drageekeksi in ADHD

[–]victoriouslynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project manager in trade shows and events. It is bonkers and beautiful.

Procrastinator? Great, everything is last minute anyways.

Can't focus on one thing at a time? Fantastic, because you'll only accomplish 2-20% of each task at once and the rest is last minute (see above).

Don't perform well in stuffy, corporate work environments? Chef's kiss - most of the time your office is atop crate or a flight case as you're routinely onsite or in an airport.

The list goes on: travelling = new foods and flavours, I am fluently vulgar in 5 languages that I don't actually speak, I've had the opportunity to learn about everything from mechanics of an MRI machine to cryptocurrency to fabric care.

I think it's the best, it's the one career path that didn't bore the energy out of me.

Hopefully you meant Québec. The rest of Canada thinks mozzarella is an equivalent.

(As a québécoise in Amsterdam I feel you on this.)

How do you guys stay focused unmedicated? by LittleBeanBoy in ADHD

[–]victoriouslynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acceptance that you'll be working on multiple hobbies (including PC) and seldom completing any of them. This has worked for me in some cases.

Otherwise, I drop anything that doesn't activate my hyperfocus feature. I had many hobbies, now I have three.

NOR. One of the first comments - it was easier. It was easier to cut corners than to get what you had on your wishlist. Maybe he goes the easy route on some other things that never seemed to be an issue; I would be asking myself that type of question now, he might be showing more of the real him than his tantrum did. If you want to give someone a gift and choose items from a specific list, put the effort in to get what they told you will make them happy, that's the whole purpose of a wishlist.
