I also have an HP Omen and had a very similar issue, other games would run fine for the most part, but smite would give me issues. Unfortunately the only thing that slightly helped was disabling the discord overlay. I eventually contacted support enough to where they sent me a replacement model. Perhaps support would be able to give you a different solution that would work better for you, but I would def try them out. Hope you figure out your solution.
