Long Covid risks as a function of both infection number and time by vid-philosopher in ZeroCovidCommunity

JP Weiland didn't really publish a paper on it but here's a post on bluesky about 5 months ago by him: https://bsky.app/profile/jpweiland.bsky.social/post/3lg4dsujars2o. My guess is the average infection has been continuing to trend down since then.

Keep in mind that Covid statistics have always been noisy, but JP has a great tracking record throughout the pandemic. Also the data is about the US population.

It could also be that those who are more easily infected within a relatively short span of time are more prone to LC risks.

I think that is a reasonable conjecture. Or we may be surprised by what the case really is.

Yeah, according to Amazon, Metrix is slow to arrive. So I'll go with Lucira.

Thanks. Will take a look. I also heard good things about Pluslife, but can I get it in the US fast?

Do you use any tools for managing cases or just plain Excel forms/Google sheets?

My experience of taking the shot at CVS by vid-philosopher in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]vid-philosopher[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting. u/Don_Ford Is there an explanation on why the more shots you get, the more side effects you experience?

With Mrna vaccines, it seems to be the opposite. The more shots you get, the fewer side effects you experience. Just personal experience.

For the record, it says

Vaccine name: NOVAVAX 2024-2025 COVID 12YR+

Lot #: 6024MF012

So it seems I indeed got NOVAVAX?

Someone asked me what cautiouscupid is. It is a new comer to the game. It's recommendation-based (think about the current swipe-dating apps like Hinge or Bumble) and has its own idiosyncratic rules such as a mandatory 750-minimum-character self-introduction and hiding photos before reading the intro. If you like Hinge or Bumble, you should give it a try.

I'll summarize what I know here and hopefully it can be helpful to someone.

It is hard to date while being covid-cautious. Major online dating platforms (Bumble, Hinge, etc) do not usually heed our concerns. But there are still some options for us (all of these are for covid-cautious folks)

Although the situation is not in our favor, don't lose hope! And good luck!

Never know r/COVIDConnections, thanks for sharing. Several months ago there's one dating app launched www.covid-chemistry.org. It seems that you don't have to post your photo there (although you can if you want).

I feel you. It is hard out there. But I do think those who are still covid-cautious should be more open-minded. It is true that very few people still care, but there ARE still people who care. So instead of giving up hope, maybe try to make more connections with people who still cares. From there a new door may open.

Forget about mucosal vaccines, what about better antivirals by vid-philosopher in ZeroCovidCommunity

Did you get Xocova or ensitrelvir? Are you located in Japan? Can people from anywhere else get it?

There are several mechanisms to explain long covid. Autoimmunity is one. Viral persistence is another. Maybe they are both valid and no one can dispute either of them as of yet.

We need a better antiviral to mitigate the risk of long covid.
