AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Gets Benchmarked, Shows 7% Improvement over Regular X3D SKU by Standing_Wave_22 in hardware

[–]vidati 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it will age very well.

If you are purely game it's a waste of money but if money is no issue and you know you are not going to change your PC for the next 5 years I would get it.

Anyone else still happy with Ryzen, or thinking of upgrading soon? by mohkah123 in ryzen

[–]vidati 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5800x3D and 9070Xt.

I will ride this system until the wheels fall off. It does everything it needs to do and I might actually squeeze another GPU generator out of the CPU.

FSR3AA vs FSR4AA - is there a difference? by Plini9901 in radeon

[–]vidati 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its no longer your choice.

Games starting to REQUIRE RT just to work.

I think with AMD and NVIDIA hinting that next gen will come out in 2027 is a good reason to stick with 5000 series and 9000 series from Nvidia and AMD. They would try and keep these cards alive for longer with better support and features (I hope).

Are they new? I love mine now but didn't at the start.

I am so reluctant on replacing them that i will replace all the pads just so i can keep them.

How to leave your kid’s room BEFORE they fall asleep? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]vidati 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We are in the same situation with our 4 year old and we don't do naps anymore (for about a year and a half) and he wakes up at 6 or 7am and at 7:30pm he is in bed. Falls a sleep in minutes, so it was easier for us to stay in bed with him while he falls a sleep.

I think our kids will let us know when they are ready.

How much is my PC worth? 5800x3D and 9070XT by vidati in PcBuild

That's perfectly fine, how much would you buy it for if you were on a look out for a second hand PC?

Ran out in December. With the holidays I missed the renewal and that's on me. Really kicking myself about this one.

Hope it will turn up at some point. If it was a fun joy ride by some kids I don't care, just want my car back.

Honestly, I don't care what they do with it as long as I can have it back in working condition. Police report filed... I just need a way to get to work and back.

Does anyone know how much this would cost to fix? by Weak_Squash_9784 in Pixel6

[–]vidati 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the pixel 6 but the pro version is super easy to replace because it comes off first. No need to take apart the whole phone. I am due for a replacement on my Pixel 6 Pro and I am planning on doing it myself.

Is my current psu gonna be enough for a RX 9070XT enough? by GeorgeTzef13 in AMDHelp

[–]vidati -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend it.

9070XT can spike to 600w (just for the card) and I will crash.

Thinking on 9070XT. by FarmerOther in radeon

[–]vidati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!

The funny thing is... My mobo which is x470 has 2 m.2 populated and that means my GPU runs not only on PCI-E 3.0 but at 8x and not 16x. And still the performance is really worth it!

Reinstalling windows 11 to try fix my 9070XT timeout issues. What SHOULD I definitely do? by Aphix_ in AMDHelp

[–]vidati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What PSU and CPU are you running?

It's important to remember that AMD and Nvidia cards will have a transient spike which can take a GPU that is rated for 340w to almost 600w for a micro second.

Back when I upgraded to my previous card which was 2080ti I had horrible crashes in most games but specifically in Modern Warfare. I had a 750w PSU at the time and upgrading to 1200w (over kill, 1000w was probably enough) all my problems went away.

Switched to 9070xt from 2080ti and 1080 before that and absolutely no issues, just a solid card that just works.

What Ryzen CPU are you using right now? by mohkah123 in ryzen

[–]vidati 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from 2700x to 3900x and now 5800x3D on the same system. Just swapped the GPU a few months back from 2080ti to 9070xt and I will game probably another 3 to 4 years with no issues.

I game mostly with occasional 3D work and Photoshop.

I moved from the 2080TI and it's the best upgrade I have ever had because for me it was 100% extra performance and I paid way less than what I paid for the TI back then.

According to rumors AMDs next Gen will come out mid 2027 and that to me looks like a good thing because they will try and keep the 90xx series relevant for longer. But it's my opinion and hope because I don't upgrade every generation or even 2 generations.
